I've never used any of those services. I have friends who have used Walmarts pick-up grocery service and been very happy. No one in my area delivers groceries.
I have never had food delivered. I go pick it up.
@Mindy D, it might be helpful if you explained what you were unhappy about since you said you don't blame the restaurant or the delivery service.

When we lived in the Philly area I used Fresh Direct for a lot of our groceries. They are in the tri-state area only: NY, NJ, DE and PA.
It is fabulous. You go online and shop, pick the time block and day you want and it arrives. They bring it to your door or into you kitchen: your choice. If you can't be home , they leave it on your porch. Customer service is among the best I've encounted anywhere. The have just about everything. Fresh, frozen food. Meal kits. Heat and eat. etc. If you live in that area, try it. That's one of the few things I missed about Philly. No Fresh Direct in Santa Fe.

I used instacart twice. The first time was to test it out. It was fine, but I don't spend that much time shopping for groceries, and I can't justify the fees and tip. The second time was a disaster, not having items showing in the app. I don't eat fast food so I haven't used the others. I do like access to these services in instances when pressured for time or say last minute items when hosting a party or something.

I've used Grub Hub a few times. Never had a problem. I've also ordered from Amazon whole foods. Also very good. Food comes fresh. I've never eaten anything from WalMart. Didn't even know they deliver, but I'm not crazy about eating anything from WalMart. So I'll leave it at that.

I've been using Peapod for groceries for many years, I started way back when it was catalog with item numbers and you telephoned in your order. I have no complaints at all, I love Peapod. I love that I can order just what I want and need and their website is actually fun to use. The delivery guys are always professional and they take my groceries right into the kitchen for me. Ocassionally, generally if I have missed the cut off time for Peapod and I want groceries the next day, I order from Amazon's Prime Now. They don't have the scope and variety that Peapod has but I can choose between Star Market and Whole Foods and I get delivery withing 2 hours. My only complaints are that some of the Amazon drivers do that "ring and run" thing. They ring the doorbell and when they hear the buzzer to let them in, they leave my groceries on the step and sprint back to the car. I hate that but it doesn't happen often. I have meals delivered by Grub Hub and Uber Eats. There are tons of participating restaurants near me; from chain fast food restaurants like Wendy's all the way up to expensive fine dining restaurants. Whatever type of food we want, we can have it delivered right to our door. I love that but the delivery fees are $$ so, I have to be careful. Also, it would be so easy to fall into the trap of eating poorly. I have no complaints with either delivery service. I have erred a few times in choosing restaurant so I've learned to only order from restaurants that I am familiar with, one that are chains or that I have dined in. Honestly, to me it's just food, it's not life saving surgery or life saving drugs. I am not going to do a bunch of research before I order a steak dinner. I'm not going to start Googling and all that stuff. Besides, I can check customer reviews via the app and I do. It's enough that I order food that I am familiar with from restaurants that I know. Which is also what we do when we eat out. We are not adventerous eaters. Life is just so much easier now that the world is virtually at our finger tips. It's been in the single digits today and my earlier, my friend who usually has her morning donuts and coffee at Dunkin Donuts said she had Uber Eats deliver her coffee and donuts to her. That struck me as funny considering the delivery fee but it was worth it to her.

I’ve used doordash, Grubhub and Postmates without any problem but the delivery fees plus tip add up! Sometimes they have promotions though.
Doordash seems most most expensive to me.
I haven’t tried thit grocery delivery or pickup.

The restaurant group my daughter works for is not happy about Grub Hub, Door Dash or Uber Eats.
They've had a few customers call to complain and have to be told the issue is with the delivery service, they were the ones to "contract" with the delivery service not the restaurant. In order to protect themselves, they've had to order tamper resistant packaging for meals going out that way.

Our major traditional grocery store chain, HEB, offers grocery delivery via Instacart, I use them especially when I need heavy items---kitty litter, real large bags of cat food, laundry detergent etc etc, and have even done my weekly grocery order through them. Always a good experience --even when ordering produce I indicate special instructions, they have always been fast, accurate, and courteous, and I can take advantage of coupons too. The delivery fee is modest depends on day/time, and tip is optional, but I always incude one.
I never tried Grub Hub, been tempted..interested in hearing others experiences. When friends come over to play cards or watch sports I have had Pizza Hut delivered, but thats the only restaurant food I've had delivered.

@Nightowlz wrote:I have used Wal-Mart's free grocery pickup twice. I did not have any problems either time. I did not buy any frozen foods, fresh meats or veggies except on my last order. I did buy some butter lettuce just to see what I would get. Both bags looked really good & fresh. I think they must have picked it from in the back since it looked better then what's on the shelf while in the store. All items had good dates.
They had all my items ordered & did not have to substitute anything. I picked up No substitutions during checkout.
I asked how that worked & was told you generally end up with a more expensive item. I doubt I would since I already by name brands.
We don't have Grub Hub or any other type of free delivery service for groceries or food from restaurants that I'm aware of. Some restaurants do delivery some don't.
All I can say is it was so much more pleasant picking up my groceries instead of going inside. Only took me about 10 mins to pickup groceries & get back home. Generally it takes me 2 hrs plus.
When Instacart delivered groceries and the item I ordered was out of stock, I got a notice on the app with a replacement item suggestion which I could approve/disapprove/or come up with my own option/or remove item from the order....all were similar priced....one time it was a store brand which was cheaper and turned out OK

We've used Peapod grocery delivery several times - it's good. No complaints except for the delivery options available (not many) since we are both out of the house all day and most weekends, and the weekday evening delivery slots fill up at least a week in advance.
I've used UberEats about 5x; no issues except room-temp food. So now, we never order any food to be delivered - I'd rather go, order, pick up the (freshly prepared) meal then come right home. Don't need my food driving around on someone's passenger seat.
