Yes Epi, scapulars are still around

Please know that I included the picture of the Church Lady from Saturday Night Live (90's) as a joke. I was not offended about the question about the scapulars and I wasn't scolding anyone for asking the question - just clarifying so there is no misunderstanding - I have a warped sense of humor sometimes.

No offense taken. I happen to think the ""church lady"". Was really funny.ESP. Since I was raised in the Catholic Church and believe in poking fun at myself!!!!

Hi Epi and all. Am running a tad late this morning as I stayed under my covers a bit too long. Have let Conrad out and given the kitties and Conrad their daily treats and had my cup of coffee so that is done. Now to get ready for church - that takes a bit of doing to get presentable to be out in public. Sure takes a lot longer than it use to and even taking longer the end result is never as good as it once was. LOL.

Am leaving some bagels and cream cheese and a big pot of coffee - good thing for a chilly morning. The bagels are onion bagels - hope everyone likes them. I prefer blueberry bagels but often veer to the onion ones as they are also very tasty.

This afternoon is the monthly potluck at Miss Mary's mobile home park - she is a hoot - almost 90 and has many health problems but can you believe she takes herself via bus to a gym three times a week. This is not Curves but a regular gym. She asked me the other day if i would go in with her and get a big pizza for the potluck. Never thought about such a thing but I said yes and the more I think about it I bet it will go over really well.

Hope all have a great day.

Hello there everyone. It's cloudy, foggy and getting dark so early here (6:43 EST). I've been leaving a lamp on for my sparrows for a little while now. Guess it's time to leave a lamp on for my pigeon. I have 7 watt nightlights scattered around on the main floor of the house that come on automatically - I call it magic eye nightlights - not sure of the actual name. I still think it's time for more though. Work has been okay so far this week. Today it felt like spring, I think it hit near 70 and it rained on and off (sorry Freddie).

Other than that, not too much going on.

I get the willies when I think of the decor of the church I use to attend also. I had continued to attend their luncheon for seniors but not sure I will go any more. ATtendance has dropped from about 100 to 37 at the luncheon last week - that is very sad. It has been starting late, NO programs and NO music and NO pastor who stops by. Just do not think I will attend any more and I know that will hurt some feelings - for that I will be sorry but just do not think it is the place for me.

Have run all over everywhere today and I am tired. Sure is heck to be as old as I am but I think having to be the overseer of younger people is taking it's toll.

Very cold this morning - I was freezing when I woke up and I woke up early and stayed awake for a good two hours - that ruined me. Then I got up super late - for me. This morning is my wash morning and I really ran late on that also.

Has anyone tried neufchatel cheese INSTEAD of cream cheese. TRY IT. You will NEVER go back to cream cheese - trust me on that. Has fewer calories, sat fat, sodium and sugars and is just delicious.Give it a whirl.

Thanks for the food - it got nice and warm today but NOT HOT and HUMID. WE have several more days of this and I suspect the horrible hot/humid days may be gone for the year. While I say that I must quickly add I am NOT ready for wintertime - even the Sou Cal version.

Hope all had a great day!!!

evenin' ladies. the weather is glorious and the leaves are beginning to turn. jim got a new tool for trimming limbs and I went outside and watched him work. the weather was wonderful and I enjoyed being outside with him.riding over the lawn was fun too...we didn't know how the scooter would do on that terrain, but it did fine. our yard looks so much better after he trimmed trees and bushes. he was pooped and went to bed before 11 which is rare for him. I've been busy today doing laundry; nice to get caught up. now i can start dribbling on my blouses again{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

happy thursday and nite all. sue

Happy Friday to All - I reserved today as a vacation day so that I could cut my grass. Sounds like a bizarre reason right? These past few weekends have been rainy or cold. I miss my old Snapper lawnmower that had a primer button. This new Snapper doesn't have one and won't start when the temps are cold so I have a lawnmower I can't use.

I considered putting newspaper on the floor and brining the lawnmower in the house to warm it up. Instead, I believed the weather forecasters at the beginning of the week when they said it would be 65 and sunny. At my age, I should know better {#emotions_dlg.blushing}.

I trotted out to feed the birds in the backyard around 7 am this morning and felt the grass to see if it was dry - it was sopping wet {#emotions_dlg.mellow}. Right now it's cloudy and rain is expected later on around 5pm. It's supposed to be windy and I wish it would get whipping so I could have a chance at cutting the front yard if nothing else.

I'll tell you, I thank God every day for my job. I will be celebrating 34 years with my employer in January which is unheard of these days. That said, sometimes working full-time gets in the way of me getting things done {#emotions_dlg.mad}.
