My goodness, where does the time go. Hard to believe that September is almost here. Past few days have been horribly humid - we escaped that for about a week - that is to say it was livable but not the past few days. And of course to add to it is triple digit heat. Still is the humidity that is awful!!!
Got a houseful of gripey kids and one old grandmother - that is me. I just shake my head sometimes and wonder what happened to them - they use to be such neat young people and now have so much anger and unhappiness. I find that so sad but have not clue how to fix it - do not think I can.
Am leaving some super cold honey tea - it is yummy and is great in this kind of weather. Do hope where the rest of you are is a lot better than here. Sigh.
Have a great holiday weekend.

Well here it is - one day since yesterday. LOL. Went to my friends 65th wedding anniversary - it was just great. Sooooooooo many friends from many years past. Ran into some people I knew but had not seen in 40 plus years - had to struggle a bit to place them also I knew their faces - yes, after all the years, but just could not always recall where/when I knew them. Was just great. And yes, it was horribly hot but their daughter's home is a lot higher than here, short distance away but about 500 plus fee higher - made a difference. We were outside but there were a lot of trees and a marvelous breeze. Came home and about died when I excited my car. Sigh.
I will be picking up one friend tomorrow and then we are headed to church. From there we will find late breakfast/early lunch somewhere - we are good at that.
Nothing planned for Labor Day - then Tuesday and WEdnesday I am driving the California freeways again. That sure gets old - did 100 plus miles a day when I worked but do not like doing it now.
Hope all had a marvelous day and your tomorrow will be even better. Stop by people - sure miss you.

Church was just great this morning - afterwards we went to Country Junction - a small cafe/coffee shop in Beaumont - same city as the church we now go to is located. An OLD western town for sure - many remnants still there but unhappily, many of the old great places are now gone or have just simply fallen down. It happens. Perhaps next Sunday we will attend either Calvary Wildwood Chapel in Yucaipa - we all like it a lot so occasionally we will still stop by there. It has gotten quite large - services on Saturday night AND 3 services on Sunday anbd all are jammed. They started 18 years ago at a park bench - amazing what that marvelous pastor has done. He preaches a great sermon also so while Olin is still our marvelous music man, nothing wrong in occasionally attending the other church. And afterwards we may head up to Oak Glen for lunch. Why not!!!'
We are being put on water restrictions - and I have to go over to the water company to talk with them. We are to reduce water usage by 25 percent - I could have done it but I have four more people here - grands and great grands - who lost their place in San Bernardino a couple months ago. My water usage has increased - fines are severe and there certainly must be some accommodations for more people in the household as it is happening all over out here - times are NOT good at all. That does not mean that some have ample $$$$$ but many of us do not.. Keep your fingers crossed as I will NOT have the extra hundreds of dollars each months in fines. I want OUT of California for sure. Sigh. I knew it was coming but never thought that would put a number on it - was hoping they would handle it like they did in the 70s = it worked like a charm but they are not doing that this year. Times have changed and the intelligence in the powers that be have also changed - went into a dive. In the 70s, you had a certain day to water the lawn, could not wash the car but once a week and it must be on the grass and NEVER in the driveway or street - things like that and it took the water usage way down. No common sense in the way they are doing it now.
Stripes is in for the night - YIPPEE!!!! Bless him - he is so adorable. The other critters have calmed down and hopefully they will sleep through the night. Strongly suspect however that the two kitties the great grands brought here will start to rock and roll about 4 in the morning - they come close to destroying the house.
Have NOTHING planned for tommorrow except John is coming over in the morning to hopefully fix my lights in my ceiling fan. FAn works great but the lights will not turn on. Always something isn't it>
Hope all have a great Labor Day tomorrow.
