A frozen Niagara Falls

I went there this morning!!!! In fact I just got back an hour ago.

I had some errands in NF and after reading about it in the paper this morning, I decided to check it out.

It is beautiful...

BTW - I collect NF memorabilia and have a print of a Frederic Church NF painting over my mantle.

Thinking of the force of that water and yet frozen falls from the minus zero temps, it's unbelievable. We haven't been to Niagara Falls in many years but it's a beautiful site.

I haven't visited NF in many years myself and never anticipated it could get this frozen. 'Tis a sight to behold, but I can certainly do without the cold.

When it gets cold enough, an ice bridge forms...and all the trees get coated in ice from the mist. I have old pictures showing people bringing their kids to the base of the Falls...

It's not safe to do that anymore, due to the power authority.
