I wouldn't have attended this wedding if this bride had been my own daughter!

Mostly likely a hoax. Snopes.com reported that this originally came out on Facebook in August 2018. They were unable to verify the validity of this. It has since been taken down on Facebook. People make this stuff up and post it and it goes viral. It sounds too ridiculous to be true.

I agree. This seems fake
It's ridiculous, but I doubt it's fake. I took it off an msn.com news feed yesterday, so I have no reason to suspect they planted a false story. Do you?
@Tinkrbl44 The reason I question is that the source is Redit. That is a Red Flag for me. When you search Redit I see a post which has a redacted FB post that we can't prove it came from a real person. Yes posts like this can cause heated debate but without a profile to search I just can't believe it really is a true story. The FB post is from 4 years ago and sounds extremly fake with the "bride" indicating she was going to delete her FB profile and backpack in South America after posting.
On FB the local newpapers have posted Rumors based on NextDoor posts made by people which have no facts behind them. The Nextdoor app is not a good source of news information.

WOW!
Just for my own curiosity, by what means did the Bride notify her guests that they're required to pay $1500/pc for the Reception?
Did she notify her Guests of $1500/pc:
At the Reception Door?
on the Invite/RSVP?
On Reddit ?
On FB?
On her "Registry?"
Phone Call to Guests?
Text to Guests?
Just to know the "topping on her, 'taking the cake.'"

Next headline should be "Groom Cancels Wedding After Bride Is Deemed Certifiable ".

This has happened to me twice. One was a friend right out of high school and the second one was a relative.

@Tinkrbl44 This comes from a FaceBook post 4 years ago. Snopes was not able to verify any of the details or if this as true. Usually when these things originate on FaceBook they are bogus. Several sources picked this up and ran with it without any verification. My gut tells me a lot of folks were had. It makes for entertaining reading but likely a hoax spread by FaceBook.
If you google Bride cancels wedding after asking for $1500 you will see what Snopes has to say about.

Okay, that's entirely possible. However, I saw it as the top human interest story on msn.com the other day, was suprised, and thought I'd share it here for comments.
If it was true .... I wonder if the former bride has any trouble getting dates these days. LOL ![]()

...and everyone else, including the groom, lived happily ever after.
