No sympathy for the groom. He went along with it until it failed. It wasn't true love or they would have gotten married, no matter what.
Entitled bride is going to have a hard time, in life, if she doesn't get a reality check.

What a spoiled brat the bride is. "We'd sacrificed so much". What a laugh that statement is. If you can't afford the price you need to get everything you want, then cut out things you want until you reach a price you can afford, otherwise elope or drive down to the courthouse.
I never believed in saddling any parents with the high cost of weddings.

@Pantsonfire2 I can understand this. If the couple has loved ones they want to celebrate with but can't afford a wedding price to accommodate all of them, then they tried to celebrate with as many of them as they could, in any way they could. If some are invited to the shower and not the wedding, I understand.

The only way I would pay $1500 for a wedding is if they revived Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek and the Doors performed a concert at the wedding. They would also have to serve me filet mignon and lobster too.

@lgfan - You've raised an interesting point. I might pay up if it was a select group, the wedding was being held in Portofino, Italy, and Andrea Bocelli and his son and daughter were performing.
And the lobster was being served, of course!

@mimomof4 "Every time I see one of these stories I wonder if they really are true. They just seem too far fetched. "
I believe it could be true. I once went to a wedding where instant photographs were being taken of the couple and they were charging $5 per photograph if people wanted to purchase them.

@Othereeeen "I wish they'd make a reality teevee show called One Year After, when all these princesses we see on these stupid shows primping for their upcoming wedding realize what life really is..."
BRAVO did have a show called "The First Year". It was about married couples during their first year of marriage. It only ran for two seasons. It was an interesting show. I liked watching all the couples going through periods of adjustments and compromises while learning to co-exist with each other.
