She would have ran off with the money and dumped the guy I can see thru that ploy.

Guests should refuse to pay. That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If they asked me for $1500 at the door I would have went back home. LOL!!!

My mother was very big on proper etiquette .... All those books were easily accessible if anyone needed to check ... Amy Vanderbuilt, Miss Manners, you name it.
If she was still alive, I swear, she'd have a heart attack.

@Tinkrbl44 Talk about Bridezilla! The attitude of entitlement
of some people, just boggles the mind.

I have seen this same scenario posted many times on various sites....hard to believe this ever really happens this often. So many brides today seem to go to extremes. They want an elaborate p, over the tooe wedding they can't possibly afford without demanding others pay for it, or they have such an intimate, private affair they look back and don't feel like they had a wedding at all.
The groom was a lucky man to find out he was about to marry a selfish, demanding, high-maintenance woman he would go broke trying to make happy. I am shocked anyone gave them any money at all. So many brides today exoect a gift at a bridal shower, a wedding gift, and then cash on a money tree at the reception...and then more cash to fund the honeymoon. My gift is my attendance at their wedding and one gift.

That groom is one lucky guy. And I hope he gets the ring back. Even if she refuses to return the ring (which is likely), that is a small price to pay for dodging that bullet.

I wouldn't had went or bought her nothing.
Entitled, is her name.
I almost asked if her fiancee was named Harry. But then I was afraid others would get the wrong impression and think it critical but the underlying meaning was what you said.

I thought this was a joke.....who asks for $1500 from each guest to pay for their wedding. I hope the very few that responded were reimbursed. Good thing true colors were displayed before the wedding...yes, that young man was clearly receiving a warning sign.

@phoenixbrd - I very much doubt this Bridezilla would've returned anyone's money. She probably felt she was owed it for the emotional stress and trauma of finding out her "guests" weren't going to pay for her extravaganza.
Unless they managed to cancel the checks before she cashed them, I think they're out of luck and pocket.
And who dumps her fiance because the guests wouldn't cough up for the wedding? Now, that's a real love story. NOT.

So true ..... I kept wondering where the heck is her mother .... probably died of embarrassment.
