@SharkE: Thanks for sharing. I fell asleep and woke up at 12:45. Was able to look out my back door. For me moon look smaller and far away, small line of red on the left side and rest looked liked a mixture of yellow and orange. Well-I snoozed and missed it. Southern Bee

not my picture. I ask permission to copy it and added the animation to it

At the beginning of my thread that is mine the one I took last yr.

I watched it long enough to see some of the red, but, it took so long this time and I'd been up since 7 and went to church and man was here to finish my fencing and wanted to get paid. I was tuckered out by 11:30

Had a long day.

Maybe the next one will be bigger and get on the ball earlier or I won't be so tuckered out. LOL  Hubbo got up one time and couldn't even find the moon

LOL dumb*** I had to point it out "there it is over there" he goes "yep" and went to bed.

Next time there is an event such as this, I’d like to find a chart like this one before the fact instead of after!

Love 'em !

I do too!

I set the timer on the oven to remind us to go out a little after midnite.

Beautiful clear sky, stars were bright and at the time we went out the moon was a shade of a copper penny.   Only the top glowed lighter white.

For me, a full moon is enough of an *event*--I really and truly enjoy it.  It's mysterious and romantic and I consider it a gift.

I love sitting out at night, I can't take my eyes off the sky!  And it's extra special when we both see a *falling star*.

Our local meteorologist alerted us when and where for the best view.  And a local astronomy club had a viewing party and telescopes set up.  Id check to see if your area has an astronomy club and/ or website for details regarding next celestial event.  Even for non -members they were to provide info on the event to anyone that asked
