@Preds She had to have known.  To me shows me how much of a greedy monster she is as well.  She's in it for the lifestyle with not standards of her own.

I am not ready to join a lynch mob and I know of no crime with which Camille Cosby is charged.   That said, if the facts do show either of them to be guilty, he of rape and she of abetting, may they each receive full and swift justice--on earth and in eternity.

Ron Goldman's son is dead, and no amount of money will bring him back.

OJ Simpson is in jail now. He's been deprived of his freedom and liberty. He's no longer in charge of his own destiny. And he's been shown up for the thug that he really is.

I thought that was the point.

So, if your loved one was brutally slaughtered, and you won a judgement against the murderer, for $50 million dollars in a civil suit, you wouldn't try to collect on that judgment, especially if the murderer had that kind of money?

Yeah, right.

@Plaid Pants2, I never said that someone who had been wronged in this way shouldn't try to collect a wrongful death settlement.

What I said was that having the assailant serve time for their actions, and in so denying them their liberty, was the primary focus.

I'm sure she turned a blind eye to all of his behavior.

I'd be very surprised if she had no idea this was going on for so long.

After the secret love child came forward, there is no way on earth she wasn't informed of his activities after that fiasco.  She is just as disgusting as her spouse.

The film from today and the report from the eyewitness reporter suggest there is something wrong with him imo.  As if he is not quite all there.

A couple things come to mind here ....

First, Andrea Constand isn't filing the claim .... the Montgomery County District Attorney's office is re-opening the case ..... so I am guessing that the DA is pretty darn sure of their case to re-open and file charges, as it would be incredibly embarrassing if they couldn't make their case!    It's  too high profile to risk  failing, so they must really have their ducks in a row.

Secondly, I think the jury selection is going to be a huge determining factor ..... the more women (of any color) on the jury would be more likely to vote guilty.  OTOH, I'm guessing if the majority of the jury were male,  Cosby would have more of a chance of getting off.

Just my opinion and speculation here .....

The prosecution can only do so much with what they have. They can't go above the law, or break the law, just because people want to to see Cosby's butt behind bars.

Even if they put on the very best case possible, that is still no guarantee that they will win.

I am guessing that Cosby wil settle out of court, for an undisclosed sum of money, and thus never, ever set foot inside of a jail.

The charges against Bill Cosby are criminal charges that have now been filed.  Cosby does not have an option to settle out of court since this is not a civil case.

I do agree though that this may be a difficult case to win.  However, I am betting there are many of the victims out there this evening that are feeling quite vindicated just seeing him have to report to a court to enter a plea in response to the criminal charges, let alone seeing his mug shot plastered all of the news stations.

Plaid....I agree with what you are saying, however, just charging him is a victory!  His "holier than thou" attitude is knocked down to the ground!  Even if Cosby will never think so, his peers will look upon him differently as well as the rest of the world.  Then, hopefully, civil suits will be forthcoming and bite him in the wallet!

Cosby will go to his grave believing that he has not done anything wrong.

Just because suits are brought forth, doesn't mean his bank account will be drained paying them off.

Just look at the Goldmans in the  OJ Simpson civil suit.

They won a judgement against him, and yet, all these years later, they have yet to see a single dime of that money.

@Plaid Pants2  I think the Goldmans received some money, and the rights to his book, selling of some items in his estate, etc., but of course, merely a drop in the bucket.

Ever hear of a "plea bargain"?

Not every case is sees the inside of a courtroom. The two sides "haggle" for lack of a better word, until an agreement is reached.

Yes, this even happens in criminal cases.

They settle out of court.

For example, the prosecution could, and I stress COULD, say something like, "To save Mr. Cosby further embarrassment, and further negative impact to his reputation, the prosecution is willing to drop the charges down to s«xual misconduct, and he'll only get five years probation, and pay Miss Smith ten million dollars"

The defense attorney gets C to agree to it, because they don't want to take their chances in front of a judge or jury, of him getting actual jail time.

So, yes, even in criminal cases,  cases are settled out of court.

How do I know this?

One day, I had to report for potential jury duty.

There we all were, sitting in a room, waiting to go to the courtroom, to be questioned by the attorneys, to get seated on the jury.

TA woman came in and told us that the case that we were going to be on, just settled, and we were dismissed. One person asked what was the case? She said that it was a r@pe case. It was a criminal case. I think the prosecution attorney was there too, and he told us, that he told the defendant, and his attorney, "There is a room full of people downstairs, just waiting to be questioned and selected as jurors. Do you really want to take your chance with a jury? This is your last chance to accept a plea deal."

He took the deal.

They settled out of court.

It was a criminal case.

So, yes, even criminal cases can settle out of court.

If Camille didn't know early on (which I might believe), there is no way in heck that she could have been unaware all this time. And I'm sure that at this point, she has some important knowledge regarding some of the times he pulled this, and is going to button her lip and pull out every stop and every trick he's pulling.

Do I believe they are both capable of shamming and pretending what his supposed medical condition might be reported to be? You betcha.
