That's not quite it.  The court, the law and the jurors have a presumption of innocence.  WE are free to think whatever we want, and to say what we think.

I get what you're saying and wasn't trying to tell people they couldn't have an opinion. I just think that this board is probably like the general public in that people have already made up their minds. It's a wonder that in high profile cases they are able to find an unbiased jury.

The fact that they have the evidence to arrest Cosby is important.
It has to be enough to use in a trial.  But like it has been pointed out, he may just settle.
If he doesn't serve any jail time, his real punishment will be his disgrace and shame.
The public already looks at him differently.   Also, the civil suits will drag him down further.  What he has been accused of is horrid and it will haunt him for a long time.

Nobody is saying the prosecution will do anything illegally to get a conviction.

But I know how these boards go.

When the public is 100% convinced that someone is guilty, and the court of law does not find them guilty, the prosecution/judge/jury is blamed.

When in fact, the prosecution/judge/jury may have done the very best that they could, with the facts given, and still have found the defendant not guilty.

Blaming the prosecution is one thing.

Saying the prosecution will do something illegal is another.

The public will want the prosecution to put Cosby behind bars.

They are out for blood.

People who think that they know everything about how the law works, simply because they watch "CSI", or other crime shows, will want the prosecution to go above and beyond what they can do, just to ensure that they get that conviction.

The public is hungry for a conviction.

And if it doesn't happen, they'll blame the prosecution, even if, it would have ment that in order to get a conviction, the prosecution would have had to break the law.

There are people who so much want to see Cosby punished and behind bars, that they want the prosecution to win at any cost.

THE JUDGE SAID "GOOD LUCK"?  As Cosby left according to the CNN eyewitness reporter.

Is that usual?

Ron Goldman's son is dead, and no amount of money will bring him back.

OJ Simpson is in jail now. He's been deprived of his freedom and liberty. He's no longer in charge of his own destiny. And he's been shown up for the thug that he really is.

I thought that was the point.

So, if your loved one was brutally slaughtered, and you won a judgement against the murderer, for $50 million dollars in a civil suit, you wouldn't try to collect on that judgment, especially if the murderer had that kind of money?

Yeah, right.

I agree, I would think a lot of people have their mind made up.  I hope they weigh the evidence when they are in the jury box.

Indeed! Smiley Happy   Thanks for pointing that out, Noel.   We are not the judge, nor are we the jury.

I do too.

But even if the jury takes a month to deliberate, and to weigh all of the evidence very, very carefully, if that jury comes back with a "not guilty" after all of that, the jury will still get blamed for being "stupid".

But some people like to think that they DO know more, know better than the judge and jury.

Here's the kicker.

The very same people who are quick to blame the prosecution/judge/jury, are the very same people who won't do jury duty when asked to serve!

If (collective) you think juries are so stupid, then when (collective) you get that jury summons in the mail, instead of trying to weasle out of it, get on a jury, and do it "right"!
