I hope this applies:
“Rape shield” laws are designed to protect the victims of sex crimes during criminal proceedings. With very limited exceptions, they prevent defendants from introducing evidence of victims’ sexual behavior, history, or reputation.

That's what I heard Ms Allred say last night--he hired a law firm that employs 700 attorneys. She also said the women she represents understand what will be ahead for them knowing everything from their past will be dredged up. I hope they're strong.

I *think* California has laws to protect rape victims from being portrayed as loose women. I don't know how far that extends, though.
Drug use will be another topic and there was a lot of that going on during those decades. The women no doubt will be put through the wringer.

I hope so, too! This sort of behavior (blaming the victim) is probably the biggest reason that so few rapes are prosecuted. It's like the victim is being raped all over again in the court room. ![]()

Is anyone watching CNN right now? One of his victims is being interviewed, and she seems...not sober? Very awkward.

@Puzzle Piece wrote:@IamMrsG I'm okay with Goria making even an exagerrated claim in this case. It couldn't hurt the vast wrongs done to many females over time. I think others are out there who haven't come forward yet either. A friend of mine almost got caught up in his disgusting caper. She worked at an Art Gallery where celeb's come in and purchase art. She flirtingly asked her out to dinner and over to his place. She refused him and told him he was a married man. He didn't like her reply and walked out of the Gallery.
@Puzzle Piece I am in no way defending the man. To the contrary, I have explicitly called him a rapist and hope he gets everything he deserves.
However, and this is a very large however, anyone who does not stick to the plain and simple, black and white facts damages the case against this man. Now is not the time (and this story is not current news) for wild exaggeration of fact. If justice is to be served -- and who among us does not want justice in this case? -- 100% accuracy is required, especially from the prosecution.
It galls me to think anyone is willing or naĂŻve enough to believe he hired 700 individual attorneys. It bespeaks of mob mentality.

Cosby suing 7 women for defamation is such a joke ..... as if he still had some good name to protect!
I hope the judge throws this out of court and won't hear the case!

Did anyone hear what was reported today? If someone already posted it, then I failed to read it, but......
Bad news for Camille. A federal judge in Mass. denied her attempts to avoid a deposition scheduled for Jan. 6 in a case brought on by 7 women against her husband.
The judge also refused to postpone or limit the scope of Camille's testimony. She tried to argue she had a spouse's right to privacy and should not be forced to answer questions about her husband's "s" activities. The judge denied her request in that too.
Hmmmmm, me smell a rat. If Camille wasn't aware about her husband's activities, then why is she trying to prevent from testifying. Oh Yeah....we know now.
BTW, they are saying that Camille has been Bill's manager for numerous years, so her interest is more in just being his wife, but keeping the $$$$$ in tact too.

Well, this IS interesting ...... I guess she's going to be deposed as his Manager, not as his spouse ..... good for the judge! I'm very glad Camille doesn't get to hide and continue to pretend all this never happened!

Tinkrbell, I know ...right? Shows that she did know all along. If she didn't know, then she would have not have tried to stop her testimony in deposition. WOW! I wonder how many attorneys are going to represent Camille now? Cha-Ching, $$$
