Guess they did not let him out of prision  like other convicts due to covid.

@skatting44   This is off topic, but close friend is a prison guard and none of the convicts there have been released because of Covid. Although he got Covid.

Peoples' lives and some of BM's family were wasted b/c of him...not BM's. He got what he deserved.

@SilleeMee

Ol' BM's initials serve him well.....he was one big ol' BM, IMO.

Re: BERNIE MADOFF DIES IN PRISON

This creep cost a lot of money for tax payers to feed and house him, so best he bit the dust.
And as far as if should've suffered longer here on earth, now he can suffer for eternity a lot worse than prison life!

@Porcelain  Is there a point to this really off topic post?

Yes. Sorry you missed it.

It was a ho hum response. Showing lack of care that someone died. The lack of affect was the point. It meant, "Oh really? Oh well."

Nice chat.

@Porcelain  Well it sure did appear to be way off topic since it was so obtuse.

I'm sure you'll instruct the mods to delete it then. Have a nice day.

@Pearlee @I understood it. The news about this is so ho-hum that she doesn't care.

Re: BERNIE MADOFF DIES IN PRISON

[ Edited ]

Bernie seemed to like prison. He was enjoying himself playing cards, watching TV, relaxing. He last visit from his wife was very telling. I felt very sorry for her. She finally could see through him as the schmuck he was and she cut off contact. He was a conniving, scheming SO .. He was a sociopath and punishment was not a motivator for him or other sociopaths (lots of research on this, as surprising as it sounds). He lacked a conscience and wrecked havoc with the lives of everyone he came in contact with. I feel sorry for everyone he hurt along the way.

Re: BERNIE MADOFF DIES IN PRISON

[ Edited ]

I feel sorry for those people he hurt and or destroyed their lives... but not for his death.

with Evil selfish people like Bernie, it takes two to tango...many people were involved in the scheme besides Bernie,

Ruth Madoff his wife, now 79, was never charged in her husband's scheme. She sure enjoyed the good life though.... She never divorced him either, despite distancing herself from the Ponzi king in public.

Ruth Madoff said she didn't miss her husband. She said: "The villain of all this is behind bars."

Ruth Madoff hasn't spoken publicly in years. She moved out of New York City following her husband's arrest and spent two years living in Florida with her sister before transitioning to one of her son Andrew's homes in Greenwich, Connecticut.

In 2017, she moved to a one-bedroom condo in Old Greenwich, where she lived in virtual exile. No media has reported on her physical whereabouts or lifestyle since, though she had to surrender almost all of her $70 million in remaining assets after Bernie Madoff got his 150-year sentence.

Bernie's Brother, Peter  who spent 10 years in prison, and was just released on 2020..

And  then there is Bernie's son ,Mark, who committed suicide in 2010 over the whole thing...

and his other son Andrew who died of Cancer in 2014..also suspected of involvement though he denied knowing anything... Shortly after his brother Mark's suicide, Andrew Madoff told People magazine, "One way to think of this is the scandal and everything that killed my brother quickly,  is now killing me slowly."

it was a big pot of stew.....

Re: BERNIE MADOFF DIES IN PRISON

@NicksmomESQ    He was very popular and well liked in prison...the other inmates admired him. Sadly, in prison he probably was happy.
