Clemmons, NC -- Four-pound Miley is a tea cup chihuahua. Veterinarians say she's too small to have puppies of her own.
But Miley still has a maternal spirit! Her owner Candice Harris said their family cat had kittens and nursed them until they were seven weeks old. All those kittens found new homes.
But Harris got a call from a neighbor who found some kittens at her grandfather's house. She asked Harris if her cat could nurse those kittens. Harris took those kittens in, thinking her mother cat would take them on and raise them as her own. But she was wrong.
Harris' mother cat nursed the kittens for a few days, then got tired of feeding them. That's when Miley stepped in! Somehow, Miley, who has never been pregnant, started producing milk, and started feeding the kittens herself!
Now, Miley feeds the kittens every hour, they follow her around the house as if she really is there mother, and Miley even growls at the mother cat if she gets too close!
