Not a single host or vendor that has shared a dad memory had a dad that was still alive. One person even got so choked he couldn’t speak while presenting his dad memory. Does make for awkward and kind of sad viewing. Not a great idea.

Also David keeps preaching about sugar content. Sugar growers would love for people to know not everyone has the challenges David has had. Stop with the church of low carb low sugar….respectfully please.

@Golfchef    I haven't tuned in much lately for his Friday Morning Coffee Talk on Instagram......seems his diet tends to be much of the topic.....

You can lump my nutritionist and dentist in with Mr. Venable when it comes to extolling the virtues of ingesting less sugar.

I understand how they feel. Some years I feel the loss more than others.   I don't know why but Mother's Day and now Father's Day were especially emotional for me.  So I'm not talking about my own parents because I don't want to drag everyone down.  Keeping it fun and joyful for everyone.  I'm with family so shopping channels aren't on my agenda.

That's common with people who lose a lot of weight.  Regardless of how they lost the weight, jump up on the bully pulpit and brag and preach.  I plead guilty to doing it myself after I lost 100 plus years ago.  I think in David's case, it's he's working on a low carb cookbook.

We'll soon hit the 40 million mark, for people in the US that have diabetes. Up to 90 to 95% have Type II diabetes. And the Type II numbers are growing, sadly, even with younger folks, now.

So there IS a problem with carbs/sugar. David can hold carb "church" all he wants. It's actually a public service for those who care to listen, before they up the odds of adding their names to the stats. It can happen to anyone on a carb/sugar heavy diet.

I'm not overweight and exercise regularly but loved pasta, bread and white rice. In 2017, I was a fraction away on my A1C to enter Type II diabetes. I worked hard to bring numbers within normal, with a healthy diet and dropped several pounds (now on the thin side), but it still remains an every day mission, since once this insulin imbalance strikes, it can only be managed, not cured.

Don't watch what you don't like. There are many offers on the Q that I won't watch, but I will never complain about them, since I know they may appeal, or benefit others.

My chiropractor used to harp on the evils of sugar so much that I stopped going to him.  And I was a skinny girl at the time.  He just couldn't help himself.  And I couldn't help being sick of listening to him.
