Autumn the Giraffe has given birth to a baby calf. It happened Tuesday morning on the live stream just after 6 a.m.

@Bird mama, there are photos and short videos posted on the zoo's FB page. It is a public page so a FB account is not needed.

I hung on until about 2 this morning so I missed the live birth but am thrilled all looks well. The video of baby trying to stand is adorable. You want to reach in and help.

I am so very happy. I was so worried after the last experience. A groundhog baby!

Maybe I can get back to sleeping some at night.

She sure fooled us this time didn't she. After Kiko and the last baby who would have thought she would give birth at a reasonable hour.

I saw it !!!!

I stayed up till about 2 watching trying to determine how much she had dilated during the day ( probably TMI lol ) and had the stream on when I got up. Got my tea and sat down, then WHOOSH !

Just a miraculous thing to watch. I can't wait to find out the sex of this adorable baby.

It looks very healthy and strong too !
