Anybody interested in knowing Australia, where it's summer, is in the middle of a heat wave as severe as the cold temps are going to be tomorrow in the Mid-West and East Coast? They are having thermometer readings of up to 120°, even the ocean water is hot.  Anybody want to do some traveling?  I hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come for us.

@Kachina624  We have family down under and from what they tell us they are suffering.

@dulwich.  That's what I'm reading; people are staying inside and hibernating, just like us.

The US doesn't have the same weather patterns that Australia has.

@chrystaltree.  What difference does it make?  If it's hotter than hades, weather patterns are a moot point.

I think I'd prefer the cold.  You can always add clothing and blankets to get warmer, but in hot weather, you can only remove so much and AC doesn't really cool adequately when it's so extremely hot.

Ok, well.  Don't move to Australia.

This kind of heat is brutal, but I remember such a spell when I lived in the CA East Bay in the late 80’s.

We did have AC but it could barely keep up with the hot temps.

Re: Australian Heat Wave

I've been watching the Austalian Open tennis tournament on ESPN.  Some of the commentators have mentioned that the heat has been stifling for the players.
