Unfortunately, the world has forgotten the lesson. Genocide still happens and no one wants to get involved. Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda.

ETA: Sorry, Sidney, for posting almost the exact same thing as you did. I didn't see your post until after I posted mine.

Not a problem but child soldiers, ethnic cleansing, unlawful executions....it's sooo wrong. I think I heard of children being executed in North Korea recently.

Auschwitz - May We Never Forget

Israel is the only country that I know of, that is under constant threat and attack to take them off of the map. I pray for their safety and protection every single day.

This is an important day in history for my Jewish family. I pray it will never happen to us again.

May we never forget the Russian Revolution and Lenin's death squads. Hundreds of thousands died at their hands, my great grandparents and great uncle included.

If the allied "statesmen" had cared about the Armenian genocide in Turkey, just two decades earlier than the Shoah, imagine what proactively could have been done to remove European Jews from danger?...Imagine the lives that could have been saved?

Oh yes, Lenin and Stalin.....Alexander Solzhenitsyn's books about the revolution and post-revolution era are eye openers.

Re: Auschwitz - May We Never Forget

The whole world needs to stand together (as one) against genocide. If we hadn't gotten involved ...there would be even more dead and we might not have had any prisoners left to release and not have this date to celebrate. Nothing is more important than life. How the world can stand by and watch is beyond my imagination. We say, "may we never forget"....but I think many have, sad to say. Thank you for reminding us. It could be us one day.

This is something I have never understood. Why do some people have this hatred of the Jewish people?
