Auroras Tonight For Northern U.S. - Maybe

NPR's Nell Greenfieldboyce says that according to NOAA, the strongest geomagnetic storming expected to occur late Friday night and into Saturday morning" and northern lights are possible Friday night across the northern part of the U.S., from New England through the Great Lakes to Washington and Oregon.

I heard about this and I hope I can view this. What gets me is I live here in the country with wide open skies, but every time I go out and look at the sky during these so called events I never see any of them (except a few of the moons). It always seems to be cloudy here or something, that I cant see a thing..lol..

I also heard this storm could knock out GPS and make technology lag. I was hoping it would make cellphones lag for a few days so people would stay off of them. (lol).

I remember seeing them in Vermont as a child. We'd go outside an lie in the grass watching them strobe across the sky. Remember seeing Sputnik, too.

Here in Boston there are too many land lights so the sky doesn't ever get dark enough to see stars, let alone the Northern Lights. Wish I were still out in the country.

We saw them once when we lived in N. Indiana. I had no idea what I was seeing! Beautiful!

We are looking forward to seeing them. The sky is completely clear and will be tonight, we live In Idaho, and the weather map whos our viewing to be good. the best if gets!!
