Bird mama, I love this picture! I think they are saying, "We're off to school now to show off our new hooded sweaters."

I agree with Puddles. That is the cutest photo - those birds look like characters for sure.

Getting H O T and H U M I D here again. Sigh.

Bird for the Weekend - Black Capped Donacobius

The bird looking directly at the camera appears to be ignoring the one with it's mouth open Wink

Hello Birding Friends - it's overcast here and we are expecting thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Hopefully strong winds won't accompany the lightening and thunder.

Hummingbird

Hi Birding Friends, Weekends pass us by way too quickly. I had planned to go to the Mall on Saturday, but didn't get around to it, so then I thought I'd make it there yesterday and again, I kept finding things to do or dozed off for too long while "reading" the newspaper, so I didn't go at all. I have had DDIL's car since Thursday night, and haven't really taken advantage of having "wheels". I hope to get there today, at least for a bit. Need to pick up some Wallflowers from Bath and Body Shop.

One of my favorite Bird of Paradise dances~~~Bird Of Paradise Mating Dance~~~

Puddles, I watched the hummingbird video and wished it was my finger those little birds were landing on. I don't know if I could have held my are so still and steady for so long though. What patience those folks have had. It had to be such a thrill to have those little beauties land on your finger. We haven't had any hummers here yet this Summer, and that's unusual. We have had a couple over the past years, in fact, DDIL and I watched 2 of them 'fighting' near the firespike plant last year. You could hear them squeaking as they were flying and dive bombing each other. Thank you for posting the link. Smile

I guess I need to get busy and get some work done, like start the washer, clip coupons and head to Publix. GS has piano lessons later this afternoon, and it is on the way to the Mall, so I guess that's when I will make my run to the Mall.

Have a nice rest of your Monday afternoon and evening. Waving hi to all Birding Friends.

possummink, I love that little owl taking a bath.Smile I couldn't have been that patient to wait for the hummingbird to sit on my finger either, but what a thrill that must have been.

Bird mama, beautiful bird of the day!

Wishing all my birding friends a good week.

Anyone for a swim?{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

The pictures on this thread just keep getting better and better. Didn't think it was possible but it sure is happening.

Filled the feeders yesterday so my feathered friends are happy with me again. Will have to go and buy some more seed - dread buying it as the cost just keeps getting higher and higher. NEVER see bird seed on sale any more like we use to. Sigh. Did not clean and refill the bird bath so need to do that today. The crows wipe it out so quickly but at least they are not dumping horrid stuff in there any more. Whew!!

I hate waking up exhausted and aching. This just seems to never get better. LOL. I slept good last night but am really dragging this morning. I rarely take a pain pill but quickly headed for some Alleve this morning - that stuff works great for me and indeed, take a couple in the morning and am good for the day. I sure like that.

Saw a hummer yesteday - they still have not returned like we use to have. I have flowers, three feeders and they use to swarm around - they sure disappeared about a year ago and no one can figure it out.

Have a great day everyone.
