Hi Birding Friends, Looks like we are going to get some more rain as the clouds are building inland and heading this way, then out over the Gulf. It's hot and humid again and I need to fill the feeder and put out some peanuts before too long, or the squirrels will be climbing the screens.
Stepping Stone, Good to see your post, but sorry about the one that escaped into cyber space. Last night when I was ready to submit my last post here, I hit copy and then submit and sure enough Chrome 'stopped working' or crashed. It didn't restore like it does normally and I was afraid my post would be gone, but when I was able to get back here and click paste, the post was there, minus the first picture, which I had open in another tab. I just clicked copy, then pasted the picture of the Scottie(Conrad) and then hit submit and it showed up. Thank goodness as it was a long post.
I hope you and your DH are doing well. Has your garden been producing a lot of veggies etc. for you? I miss a lot of the fresh veggies I get at home. DS is not into fixing many vegetables, but lately he's been doing more, even asparagus. We had white and green asparagus last week. It was sure good.
Mousie, How is DD doing at school? I was wondering if she has some 'home-sickness' yet. I am guessing you are really missing her and the pups too. Getting closer to the remodeling finish line? Have the quail shown up this year in your garden/yard or has the construction kind of kept them back?
Winifred, I sure hope you are feeling better by now and had a good time at the party this afternoon. I have had that queasy, rocky feeling at times when getting up in the morning. It's a bit a bother, wondering if you are coming down with something or had some food that wasn't good~~all kinds of things run through my mind. Usually it goes away after I eat something. Hope yours was just hungry too.
Puddles, not too long before your packing picks up steam and you get ready to come home to the States. I hope Ian's foot is doing ok since he had the cortisone injection. They are not fun to get, but they do work, especially(in my cases), if they hurt like heck for about a day afterwards.
We just had a loud thunderclap that even scared the doves out of the back yard. A few minutes ago, I went to the dryer to check on the towels I had in there, and I opened the door leading into the garage. The garaged door was up as DS was just returning from the store and the sun was shining in the but right outside the garage it was pouring down rain. Really a weird sight, even my grandson mentioned how strange it looked. I didn't see a rainbow in the eastern sky though. It's thundering and blowing outside now. Lightning is the big danger down here.
Birdmama, Hope you have a nice cool and relaxing weekend. A nice 3 day one for you. I kind of wish the work and school week was only 4 days long. A two day weekend just flies by too quickly. I know my grandchildren agree with me.
My almost 16 year old GD, she will be 16 on 30th of Sept., got her drivers permit yesterday and her mom let her drive on some of the busier streets today, park the car, back up and then go to a stop light and get that experience of waiting for the green light. I got to see some of it on Facebook as one of her friends was videoing part of it while Jillian was driving. I told her I'd put my seatbelt on while sitting at the kitchen table.

, I must say though, that she did pretty good, at least what I got to see.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend, Everyone. Can't believe summer is almost in the past.

These little 'guys' remind me of little proper gentlemen standing around with their hands clasped behind their backs. If they had a line of tiny feather going across their tummies, it'd be like pocket watches with their "suits". Just some whimsy from me.
