@SilleeMee I was not aware of this. Is there any teatment to lower risk of Alzheimer's?

There's quite a bit of credible literature about the use of HRT as a means to help reduce the risks. But some say it's controversial and needs more study. You can do your own searchs about this topic. It's very interesting.

I was forgetful when I was a kid. Nothing really has changed. I'm in my 40's now. No difference. I still forget some things.

I forget to remember what not to forget.😁 I jest, but I have short term memory issues so my brain gets a workout throughout the day.😊

I was hoping you would have an answer, since I know you study many things! Of course, I looked but quickly, and saw references to HRT, and what I remember is that HRT was commonplace at one point but curtailed well before I hit menopause because it caused heart disease or heart attacks. If my recollection is correct, I probably can't get a prescription.

I have noticed a decline in word retrieval. Today I was talking with someone, and I couldn't for the life of me remember "InstaCart". I kept talking around it: groceries being delivered in a few hours.....and the person I was talking with had never used it, so she kept looking at me....
What I've noticed: the words and the names I'm searching for usually come to me later without having to look them up. It's just maddening and part of getting older. I never had word retrieval issues when I was younger.
I did, however, walk into rooms and wonder what I had walked in for...

I read a newsletter from the Mayo Clinic that said I believe it was 63% of those with dementia were in their eighties. Of course other ages suffer this also.

I've had word retrieval issues my whole life. Most of the time, I try to remember the first letter - for the word to come. I think there's a part of my brain that never developed.
