Re: At what age do you think you no longer thought as a child, but as an adult?

When my beloved father passed away, when I was 17.   He was magic!   I still feel his presence and the gift of his love, humor, and wisdom, and once I was able to work through the shock and the grief I learned to transform those emotions into gratitude.   It was definitely a major transitional time.

The day that my dad died, and I realized that I was all out of parents, that I was completely on my own.

The brain fully matures around the age of 25, some earlier, some later.

Regardless of when we think we have become adults before that age, I think it's sometime during our 30's when we have some experience under our belt and begin to develop wisdom.

Older parents, no children around, very independent parents--I don't remember being a child, and my mother always wistfully said "we never allowed you to be a child."

Never felt like one.  I don't understand so many kids now days who want to have mommie run their lives at 25.  I can't relate to that in any way.

I had a lot of responsibilities at home so I feel I became an adult at an early age.  I would go with age 12.  My mom used to tell me I was more responsible at that age than some actual adults.
