I've been reading lots of posts - the last one re: Dan Hughes taking a sabbatical. He tried to head off any speculation that is inevitable on these boards ... some were sweet and encouraging. Some were the cutting, biting, hurtful remarks that many of us have come to dread.

Of course, the response is that these are all in the name of 1st ammendment right to opine, but I just cannot believe we'd use such caustic remarks face-to-face. Dear heavens, I hope not. But anonymity does not take away the sting.

So before posting this I went through the following criteria and answered in the affirmative:

“Before you speak ask yourself: Is it kind, is it necessary, it is true, does it improve upon the silence?”

This is not to berate anyone, just to ask that we all think about others first.
