Ashley felt that those who fell in the Olympics shouldn't have won a medal over her. She skated a clean program. Well Ashley, you shouldn't have been in the Olympics. Ashley came in 4th in the qualifying competition because she fell. The federation voted her in. Wonder if that crossed her mind...obviously not.

This comment is totally OT, but Ashley Wagner looks a whole lot like Kate Gosselin.

I think Ashley Wagner skated a beautiful performance. She deserves to be at the Olympics. People had faith in her and sent her. She did a good job for the USA. She didn't let the USA down.
I think the real controversy is between the 1st and 2nd placement. I saw last night that there will be a review of the scoring. I didn't think the Russian outskated the woman from Korea. I think 1st place was a gift for Russia.

I think Ashley should have kept her mouth shut. She skated well but I don't think she deserved a medal.

I was watching the skate program and I couldn't believe when the skater who fell got higher marks than Wagner did. I agree with Wagner. She skated better than the girl who fell.
And yes, Wagner fell while skating the qualifying competition, but she didn't fall during her performance at the Olympics.

Different elements have different point value. One element may have a higher point value than another. Then they deduct from that point value if they don't do all the rotations, if they two foot the landing, and yes, if they fall.
So, one skater may have elements that have a higher point value, than another skater.
For example, skater A has elements that are more than the elements of skater B.
Skater A falls during her performance.
That fall is naturally deducted from her element total value.
Skater B skates flawlessly.
But because skater B started with a lower total point value for her elements, she comes in lower in points than skater A who fell.
I hope I explained it so that it makes sense.

Isn't she the one who talked about how secksy she was?

Asheley W said she skated 3 clean programs. No she didn't. She seldom if ever skates a clean program. She under-rotates and 2 foots her jumps and gets edge calls. Then there's the fact she still cannot do a triple-triple combo cleanly. Ashley didn't fall, that does not mean she skated clean programs.
The biggest disappointment I heard her say this morning was she was going to stick around for the next Olympics. The good news is the younger skaters are going to leave her in the dust.

It also was a combined score of the Short Program and the Free Skate.
I wasn't that impressed with Ashley's attitude during the Nationals here in Boston. Yes, she can skate, but she's a bit of a Diva.
I do think that the Korean Skater should have gotten the Gold over the Russian. I think maybe the fact that she hadn't competed recently so skated far down in the ranking order for the Short Program was a hindrance. She got great scores, but might have gotten higher if she had skated later. But both of them were better than Ashley throughout their entire programs, however, even with a fall.

Ashley seems a little conceited to me. She really criticized the judges and how they score.
I was really rooting for Yuna Kim to win gold.
