@Boomernichols wrote:@aj1980 Folks have been steaing flowers from the dead so it is no surprise they are now stealing THE DEAD. There is no punishment given for such vile acts so there is no deterrent.
My family and I were almost positive that someone did that to a family members site. But they possibly got an unwelcome surprise because we had seen black widow spiders in some of the artificial flowers when we would change them. We had to be very careful.

My personal opinion is that something this sacred should have not been trusted to be left on a porch. It should have been signed for or pick up at the local post office . Not being in senstive to the people nor being mean.l 'm Just sayin

Very sad.
In some places you can have items dropped off at another site.

Grandmother’s ashes taken from porch in Memphis (video)

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WREG) — A Midtown woman is coming to terms with losing her grandmother for a second time after a porch pirate stole the package with her ashes inside it.
Amy Rost lost her grandmother back in October, which she says was hard enough.
“She was definitely my rock when it came to grandparents. She was there for all the graduations, all the birthdays,” Rost said.
Dealing with that loss twice, according to Rost, is heart-wrenching.

Even if some ashes are returned, who knows if it's really grandma? you can't do DNA testing (as far as I know) on cremains.
It was possibly the NFL that finally instituted a rule again dumping ashes on their football fields. As one player said, "I don't want to be runnin' over grandma."

Rotten people steal anything and everything.
My nephew and his wife lost a newborn daughter last Spring. He bought a unicorn statue and put it on her grave..stolen from the grave. This is at a huge Catholic cemetery. No conscience for some people.

@aj1980 ... l agree with you. It should not have been left on the porch! I would have preferred to pick up this very important package at the post office.

@MoJoV ... How heartbreaking your nephew and his wife lost their newborn daughter last Spring. 😢 I just cannot imagine something so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for them.
