The holiday season is fast approaching. And a surprise to me....the rare event that Christmas and the first day of Hanukkah will be on the same date this year. One holiday has nothing to do with the other, yet that makes me so happy ☺️

I sure as **** can. Summer is a PITA. Ants, flies, high electric bills, pay somebody to mow your yard $$$,
Weeds in and around your house.
No rain so you have to run sprinklers and drag a 100 foot hose to reach those the sprinkler don't reach.
I killed a big ol' black furry spider on my front porch yesterday. Thing was huge. I stomped him dead don't want him trying to get in my front door !!
Winter is calm and quiet. Just avoid ice. When I get to where I'm afraid to go to mailbox I'll have Dr. to write me a letter to the P.0. to put it on front porch.

That looked about like him except he was black. Outside praise heaven. He won't be coming in now.
I pretty well don't back down whenever I see something disgusting. I've seen a snake or 2 chop their heads off with hoe. Trap mice. Stomp anything that can be stomped.
One day on my front porch I was sweeping sensed somethng behind me, turned around, big black dog.
He looked at me I glared at him and made motions with the broom "get, get". He moved on. LOL
When you live in a country suburb you got rabbits galore. My husband used to kill them, but, I gave away his guns.
In winter time rabbits will eat anything bark and all. I bought some bird netting and clamps to cover up a new shrub I bought. Hopefully, that will discourage them

Be glad you killed it outside !
Last week I opened the French door in the great room and a huge tan/brown spider walked in. Immediately I took my shoe off to smash it.
Got it BUT it must have just had a mouthful of tiny ants that spilled out and started running....got them to once I realized what happened.
Then there was the Fourth of July night during the fireworks. I opened another door of the great room and Mr. Big Frog was eyeing the doorway. Sacrificed my long speared umbrella but it was for a good cause.
This frog would not be dissuaded from that entrance. I must have swept him onto the driveway with a broom several times to no avail.
One year I saw this " helmet " moving along the front lawn. Turns out it was a turtle.
Then another year, a coyote hunted down a cat in the corner of the back yard. A yearling deer came by as he was finishing his meal and the two just eyeballed each other.
Every year a hawk leaves us a pile of feathers. I guess the Turkey that landed on our neighbor's fence was a little too big for it.
A friend had just dropped me off near our garage and screamed Don't turn around ! Of course, that's exactly what I did and had to duck ( pardon the pun ) as a huge red-tailed hawk flew over my head.
Since I don't live in the country, these are sure exciting times...I can do without.
Yes, I also killed two small snakes with a hoe...
