As a kid, in winter, did you use a sled, a saucer, or something else to slide with?

We have a great place to toboggan here, if your body can handle that and the cold now. But we had a great hill out back of our property, as a kid, and we'd slide outside in the snow for hours. Had a ball, must have been...9-10 kids possibly. Never had any problems, and it was a ball!

When we lived in the Dakota's as adults, one of the places used to have a yearly homemade- built, snow slide, downhill race. It was a riot to watch.

Any childhood sledding memories you'd like to share?
