I think the mystery witness was Alyce LaViolette.

Tuesday the first phase of the trial was done (the summary of the criminal trial)

Today was to be the first day of the mitigation phase. This is Nurmi's part.

However, it started with Tanisha and Stephen giving victim impact statements, which were quite moving. Makes my tummy hurt, actually.

Now starts the mitigation, but we have been stuck for an hour with sidebars, attempts to kick the media and still camera operator out of the courtroom--which led to more meetings in chambers. Still have no idea what is really going on...lots of speculation.

Marianne, how did you hear their statements?

I don't hear them, I follow twitter. That gives a lot of detail.

There is a hearing today at 3pm (AZ time) with Judge Stephens to hear the media's motion to stay (the trial, until the appeal is heard by another court-- on keeping the court closed for the "mystery" witness)

If she denies this request, the media can appeal for a fast-track for a hearing on the matter (with the other court)

Oh good grief... she drove me crazy!

Could very well be ALV. She will tell the jury her fairy tales about Arias (aka Snow White) and insinuate Travis was an unworthy human.

Not to mention how Travis abused Jodi, because Jodi told her, and she knows she is telling the truth, of course she wouldn't say it if it wasn't so. Even though there is no evidence, Jodi's word is good enough for her.

Local NBC station 12News will argue their motion for a stay at 3pm today. They will request a camera in the courtroom, but unknown if it will be granted. If she denies they can appeal immediately for a fast-tracked hearing. Not a live hearing, but she is allowing cameras in for this hearing. https://twitter.com/william_pitts
