For those who follow the news in this case, I believe the defense has just rested.

Arias' attorneys tell the judge that Arais does not wish to allocute. Arais says that's not correct, but that she wants to allocute in a closed hearing. Judge Stephens tells Arias this is her chance to beg for mercy and show remorse for her crime, but Arias won't do it unless the hearing is closed. Judge says no again and explains that allocution is not subject to cross examination. Arias still refuses, says she won't speak under those conditions.

Court resumes tomorrow for closing and to finalize the jury instructions.

It looks like end is finally in sight.

**I'm getting my information from Twitter and I'm not very knowledgeable regarding legal matters. If anything I wrote is incorrect, maybe someone like Marianne (Complicated?) can weigh in. She's good at getting the facts straight.

Thank you for the update. We were just talking about this at home the other evening - wondering what's going on with the trial. It's true to form that Jody would believe she's the only one that should be allowed / entitled to allocate in a closed courtroom.

That is a pretty good explanation of today, Susie.

The back story to JA wanting to testify in "secret" is that she refuses to testify in front of any media, court visitors or cameras. She says she fears for her safety, claiming she has been receiving threatening mail. (Which she did not produce to the court). She did testify earlier in this phase of the trial for 2 days in the closed setting which the judge granted, but never finished or faced cross by Juan Martinez because the medial appealed the closed courtroom to the COA, and won. Then the defense appealed the COA decision to the SCOA, and they refused to hear it.

She remains a piece of work with all her manipulations.

It is ironic that she ""fears"" for her safety and wants secret testimony considering that she courts the media and plants info thru her minions all the time. Still. As in today. Stuff got leaked before it happened today by someone on her support page website.

2 jurors were dismissed today. She was happy happy happy.

Thank you Complicated for weighing in with that information. It's hard to believe it was 2013 when we were posting during the 1st trial and here we are in 2015 with it still going on.

Cannot even imagine what the Alexander family are going through. Hopefully it won't be long before this despicable individual is done putting them throught the wringer.

It is not gonna end. She will insert herself in the public forever. Either automatic appeals with the DP or just appeals if Life.
