Well actually my foot is much, much better but still not 100%.  On Tuesday, when we arrived at the boy's house to Roo sit, PapaWick was unloading the bed of the truck (we are here for 2 weeks, so had lots of stuff).  Anyway, he was pulling the 40-pack of water forward (not lifting) when he twisted his low back.  He has been taking ibuprofen and using a heating pad on low.

PW doesn't complain much, but he is having trouble getting up from a chair and getting out of bed.  He didn't put up much of a fight when I told him at 5 this morning I was going to make an appointment for him.  Fortunately, he was able to see our doctor's NP.  Will be picking up an Rx shortly.

Re: Aren't we a pair (injuries)

@MamaWick,

I was just talking to my daughter about Murphy's law the other day.

If anything can go wrong, it will.

It sure does see that way sometimes!

I hope he feels better soon. I find with backs it mostly takes rest, ice, heating pads, otc pain something or other and I love Salon Pas patches or even vapo rub that has menthol in it! don't do anything to excess but hard with watching the 2 doggies!

@MamaWick    I find that ice packs are far more effective than heat for back pain.  Especially in Texas in summer.

Voltarin Gel gives me temporary relief that lasts a couple of hours.  I've had chronic, on-going back pain for my entire adult life.

@MamaWickI agree with @godi , when it rains it pours! I'm happy that you're feeling better. Tell PW to try the Salon Pas patches. They're really fantastic! Take care and take it easy.❤️

@MamaWick

I'm glad your foot's recovering.  Hopefully, you'll be able to wear shoes again soon.

I hope your DH is on the road to recovery after the appt. with the NP.  Doesn't take much for that injury to happen. I've been down the road also & comes back to "visit" me 1-2 times/yr.

Wishing you both wellness during your Roo-sitting vacation .  I hope Sweet Willow's enjoying her doggy-vacation with her cousin Roo.

Sending a get well wish that PW feels better soon.  Follow doctor's orders.  Ice is for pain and heat will release the stiffness.  Over the years, i have injured my lower back.  Feel better.  Willow to the rescue!!!!

Re: Aren't we a pair (injuries)

@MamaWick

Glad to see you are doing better, and now? With PW getting and Rx, I am pretty hope is just dealing with muscle issues, as opposed to spinal nerves or discs. I hope that is his prognosis from the NP. I am sure he got the "what to and what not to do" from that NP.

I know from having my 2 back surgeries to remove 3 ruptured discs, how immobile problems with the back can be. Also the importance of doing the right things for it as soon as possible after the injury.

My wife and I have been in similar position, but most of ours, were alternating stays in the hospital, and that was fortunate in our case. We did however spend 1 day having Iron Infusions together. She was the In-patient and I was the Out-patient, so that worked out well.

Think I heard it's Fathers Day this weekend, what a way for him to celebrate. I will pass this on to my wife, she has been gone Pet Sitting since last Friday, and think she will be home Sunday or Monday.

Best wishes to you in your recovery, and tell PW hello from both of us. Also tell him to behave and be nice to his back!
