Are your packages arriving intact?

Have your packages been o.k. lately?  These are how my last two packages from QVC arrived.  One delivered by UPS and the other just delivered by USPS.  Luckily the contents were fine.  But it almost looks like both deliveries were opened on purpose to see the contents.  🤔

Re: Are your packages arriving intact?

I have only ordered 2 things recently, one of them Davids book which will not ship til October 26 the other was Valerie Parr Hill Hurricanes and they arrived like that.  I was sick to death and afraid to open them.  Happy to report all was well inside the package.  I will say though even though they were ok, I thought they were packaged poorly, not by QVC but by the Vendor.

@LdyBugz So far I haven't had anything at all like that. Nor have I heard complaints from my neighbors.

Makes me suspicious of whoever is the delivery person (not company necessarily) on your route.    Also makes me happy that right now I am not shopping for much a thief could easily carry away.  Gotta be really determined to steal a ton of flooring or 5 gallon paint cans.

Re: Are your packages arriving intact?

@Miss Pepsi  Yeah I was afraid to look inside the packages, too!  The most damaged one was from a vendor and the second one was QVC packaging.  I recently had one of those grey, plastic bags arrive recently and it was ripped open a bit and retaped.  I have never had this happen with things ordered from Amazon or anywhere else.

Re: Are your packages arriving intact?

@LdyBugz Having worked in retail and helped receive shipments, those boxes look like the ones we received inside a master carton. They were designed to contain a specific item and protect it from damage. They are a thinner quality cardboard and should be packed inside another box. They are not sturdy enough for the rigors of shipping.

Re: Are your packages arriving intact?

My Farmer Jon's popcorn arrived in a very similar condition........the outer cardboard box look liked it busted open in transit, stuffed with black plastic recyclable bags then retaped.  Fortunately, the popcorn was intact in their individual bags even though they were originally thrown into the cardboard box with no packing.  Don't know what's been happening with the outbound transportation shipments, but it's not what it used to be..........

Re: Are your packages arriving intact?

Yes and no, but nothing yet as bad as the one pictured!  Were multiple items sent in that box?

One thing, kinda related, the UPS man told me that when things are packaged in a much larger box there's a tendency of items getting damadged (bouncing around in box).  He mentioned this when I told him a couple items were sent together in a much larger box.

I've noticed lately, amazon and chewy insert "puff pillpws" so things don't bounce around.

Re: Are your packages arriving intact?

I recently got a delivery from Walmart via Fed EX.  I checked the tracking and it said delivered at the front door by Fed EX.  Actually it was crammed into the back of our mailbox.  Is that legal?  Can they utilize your mailbox?  I saw the FedEX truck so I know it wasn't delivered by my mailman.

I had another package show it was delivered to our front door, again by Fed EX.  I never received that package.  Walmart gave me credit, but what a hassle.

The packages that I do receive have been in pretty good shape.

Fear not Brothers and Sisters! I have read THE BOOK..........we win!!!

Re: Are your packages arriving intact?

@eddyandme  The top package was ceramics from a vendor, so just one item.  The second, less damaged package was three clothing items.  As for Amazon, they always package nicely, so far anyways!
