Re: Are you the average QVC shopper?

[ Edited ]

Well, I just discovered QVC in October 2014. I received an email from the Bare Minerals people, who were letting me know that they had won an award for the annual Beauty Award show, and to please watch because there would be a special price on their winning product.

WOW! Up until then I thought "Who in the world would actually sit down and watch a channel that is 24/7 commericals?" I normally record programs just so I can SKIP the commericals! But I thoroughly enjoyed the Beauty Award program and was introduced to many items I didn't know about previously.

I have definitely become an above-average shopper on QVC because it is so simple/easy to get items I want/need. I really don't like to get in the car to go shopping; try to stay away from malls, etc. But in minutes on QVC, I can get the same or similar thing without taking the time to go to a store, and it is delivered to me. I have friends who enjoy going to the stores, but that's not for me. Have too much to do, so QVC frees up my time.

My purchases have ranged all over the spectrum: beauty, kitchen, heaters, ladders, etc.

Must say I started to use the easy pay, but quickly found that can be a potential debt trap, so I only purchase now by paying the full price when I order. I always get startled pauses when the operator says: "And that comes to $_____ on easy pay" and I reply, "but I didn't ask for easy pay....what is the full charge on my credit card?" They go: "Oh, just a minute." ha! Easy pay must be the way most people go, and that is fine. But for me, I want to make sure I stay away from that.

No.  My last purchase from the Q. was March 2012.  Tired of broken items and returning all the time.  I just window shop, keeps my retirement acct. in better shape.

Re: Are you the average QVC shopper?

In the summer I buy more because I buy clothes. I have no use for winter clothes here in southern Florida so I  don't buy then. Also , we are in Pa in the summer and clothing is tax free when shipped to Pa. Probably averages out to about 25 items a year but not at the rate of 2/month.

My QVC purchases have dropped by about 75% since the new return policy went into effect.  I have purchased. 4 items since then.  Poor quality products, sizing issues on clothing which I now have to pay to return have pretty much killed off my QVC purchases.

I stopped shopping with the Q because they kept cancelling my Q card without notice.  I find better pricing in the brick and mortar stores.

No, not any longer since our healthcare premiums have gone up so much the past two years.

From what I've read, you're better than most.  If what you posted before is true, the premiums you pay are a bargain.

Again, I mean this in a kind way..if you're in need of help, contact your local Social Services dept. and health care.gov.

It may be your particular state which is holding you back from receiving good health care coverage .

I wish you well in your search.

That's me most months, but there are a few special sales--the gold rushes, gem day, and the Irish days--that would tilt me up into a higher category overall. At one time, I could have mentioned Polish pottery too:  I wish they would bring back a full inventory.
