I am having a hard time getting excited about the holidays this year....seems like it was Christmas in July for months....and then we went right to pumpkin spice time...a few pumpkins and leaves....are we skipping Thanksgiving completely this year and going straight to Christmas? Three houses on my street have had their Christmas lights and decorations up for a month now. I think C-I-J ruins it for me...I prefer the anticipation of it all...not seeing pumpkins and Santa Claus in the same yards at the same time.

I am not really much of a 'holiday person'. All my days are the same except that for some holidays I have to do more work.
I hate summer so I wish they could move all those holidays to summer, then I can just enjoy my winter.
But I certainly don't begrudge others their love of the various holidays.
As far as retail stuff - yeah, it gets a bit much. Now that there is basically six months of christmas, I could definitely do without that. But I also find it fairly easy to ignore, so I leave it to those who enjoy it. ![]()

I just tune out what everyone else is doing. I have my own timetable, but I do know you can have holiday " fatigue," but just do your own thing and try not to let the hype get you down.

Now that's a great idea, @chickenbutt, get all that done in the summer so we can enjoy fall and winter. ![]()

I love the holidays.
I do not have anything to do with Christmas in July. I live in the “season”

I just finished getting most of the decorating for the holiday done...just need to do the main Christmas tree tonight & tomorrow ![]()

I don't mind picking up unique decorations early but nothing goes up until after Thanksgiving. I have new items this year and can't wait to put them out. Like a kid anticipating Christmas, I am excited for the day after Thanksgiving.

Right there with ya!
This has been my (obviously unrealistic) wish for years.

So far I’m thinking of doing less decorating and not until the last week of Nov.
Just getting over a particularly horrible stomach flu that knocked the wind out of my sails so that doesn’t help.

It's too early for me to get into full holiday mode. I get into the holiday spirit after Thanksgiving.
