I had to think about this one for a while.  I guess the best answer is more often than not.  I can't say I am "happy" all the time and every moment of every day.  I can say that I have something inside that always brings me back to it.  I think for me, like someone else already said,  happiness comes with peace and contentment.

I can relate to your answer.  This is why I don't get on the happy pills.  As long as I can come back to happy every so often, I'm fine with that.

I am working on finding my happiness.  I lost it last year when I was diagnosed with cancer.  It was starting to come back when I lost my fur baby a couple days ago.  My happiness will return in time.

I am content.  I'm happy with my life and I have sad moments that I respect.  They are there to remind me of why I've had a good life.

Every sad and every happy has a reason ... I choose to respect them and learn from them.  Isn't that what life is for?

There have been passages in my life ... some  filled with incredible joy ... while others have ebbed and flowed.  These last several months, however,  have been particularly sad with the passing of some dear friends, and my best friend being moved out of state to live near her daughter,  in a center for Alzheimers' patients.

So, no ... I'm not particularly happy during this passage ... although grateful for what the Lord has bestowed upon me.

@griggy It must be hard to get through each day with all those ailments.  As you said, happy is felt in the heart.  I don't think I've truly ever been happy deep in the heart.  I think that's where it starts and lives when you're happy with who you are.  I think if you don't learn that, if it's not put there when you're young, then as you grow and age you're less likely to figure it out.  It can become a very lonely place.

It's good that you have love and support from friends and family.  That's priceless.

SAD.

Yes, I'm very happy and just glad to be alive by the "Grace of God"Heart

When we go to a nearby town to shop, there is a woman in a wheelchair going all over town. She doesn't have any arms or legs. But she always has a big smile on her face.

Just wondering are you happy? I work at a busy medical clinic and meet all kinds of people. My heart hurts for those that truly are not happy. One can tell, the spirit is broken. We may be in physical pain, yes and still be happy in the heart. So are you happy?

Before you judge, I have lupus, fibromyalgia, and Hughes syndrome. However, I have wonderful family and friends for support. So yes I am happy in the heart.

griggy-I just wanted to tell you that I thought this was such a loving thoughtful post, that you must think about the people you are with a lot, and I think its true about the physical but happy in your heart (that you can beSmiley Happy and I'm glad that you are with all you have to go through. Very inspiring-thank you!
