Re: Are you happy?

Somedays......other days not so much. If someone was happy all of the time, I think there would be something wrong with them.

LOL yes ;-)

And aside from my recent fairly major happy-changes, I am much more in the content camp than "happy." I tend to think of "happy" as a bit artificial, though there are many shades of happy for sure. My happy comes in bites, otherwise I'm content to be content.

I'm really happy most of the time, but not every minute of every day.

HOWEVER ....  I am always content.

I am happier than I was. I am now back home living in Michigan.  My brother helps me out with rent since I am disabled and do not make much monthly. I love where I live right now which is right by a lake. We have access to the lake clubhouse, dock, and are able to cook out swim and fish, plus I have a great view of the lake from my apartment. I know that I will not live here forever as we need to find a low income rent apartment but they are all on waiting lists right now but I will enjoy it while i can

I try to take one day at a time even if I am having a bad health day I know there are people out there who have it much worse than me and no one to help them out. I do have my bad days but I count my blessings every day.

So yes more days than not I am happy

Happiness is a choice you make.  That doesn't mean you won't have hard times.  So yes, I am content and at peace.

Clinical depression is not a choice and one cannot choose their way out of it.

Unfortunately, many people suffer from depression and it is a by-product of many physical illnesses, it can come with the territory.

I'm lucky, I'm basically a happy person, aside from the usual ups and downs.

I have a loving husband and daughter, that always helps Smiley Happy

I also do a lot to celebrate life.  We have a great time around birthdays and holidays.

We also have wonderful friends we see and get together with.  It's important to have a social life and support system.

I'm happy since I let the Lord into my life, like the song says," what a friend we have in Jesus".

There's a new book by Joe Dispenza, entitled "You are The Placebo" that you might find fascinating.  There's also a youtube interview where he discusses the book.   I've changed my definition of "happiness."  For me, it's remembering to be grateful, and, like that old song by Johnny Mercer, ". . . Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, don't mess with mister in-between."

At the moment, I am happy--yes.  That can always turn on a dime, so I savor happiness when I feel it.
