Such an interesting topic. I noticed just the other day that I am drawn to all shades of green lately - clothing, decor, everything. Perhaps that's because my surroundings are so brown the last couple of years. I absolutely crave greenery.

Having taught Interior Design, I can tell you color most definately affects our feelings! You will never see a prison with red walls! We think of "cheery" yellow kitchens.
I remember reacting to color as young as six or around that time. My mother had to buy me a pair of tennis shoes and the only ones in my size were red. I tried everything I could to keep from taking them from the store, then took them off as often as I could!
When decorating, if you don't use the colors in "your palette, you usually have an impulse buy and tire of it very quickly to where you can't stand to see it. Carole Jackson in "Color Me Beautiful" was "right on" on her research on color theory.

for my home I like earth tones,my clothing is black only....never another color...and I despise pink!
