Re: Are you an optimist or pessimist?

I am a realist with a side of optimism.....it is what it is.....I stomp my feet....it will get better/this too shall pass.....and it always does!

Re: Are you an optimist or pessimist?

I'm a pessimistic realist. I fear for the worse and know that eventually it will happen. In the meantime, I am just having a hard time seeing that happy ol' ray of sunshine. I'm not alone and so take solace in numbers.

Re: Are you an optimist or pessimist?

I'm an optimist by nature and know many times circumstances change for better or worse.  I do believe that light will also shine brighter and brighter, dark clouds will disappear and things will be seen in their real and natural state.

Re: Are you an optimist or pessimist?

I'm an optimist, have been for most of my life BUT...... I also deal with reality each and and every day and know what's in front, besides and in back of me. I do not look at the world with rose colored glasses nor deny the ugly truths that are happening.

One thing that I still have is a love of humanity and without it I would be a lost soul.

Re: Are you an optimist or pessimist?

What I don't particularly like about this question is, and let me clarify, this is not against OP or any specific posters at all, I'm speaking generally, that it seems many think that is better to be optimistic than pessimistic, and in turn, optimists are better than pessimists.  I don't like the connotation that goes along with this. I think nature plays a big part in the optimist v. pessimist thing.  Yes, by nature I am a pessimist.  However, I am also a realist.  And just because I tend toward the pessimistic, doesn't mean I am negative all the time, which is I think is the association to pessimism.  I am positive about many things but I also believe cr*p is cr*p, and no matter what, it will smell like cr*p.  I will also call out BS all day long.  I will say what I think if someone asks, and I do not sugar coat things.  That's just me.  I just think we are who we are, and that should be okay.  We all have personal strengths and weaknesses.  And I think most of us try to be our best-selves every day.  I am always a work-in-progress...
