Re: Are you a good gift wrapper?

I don't think I have the patience to fiddle with the gift and the paper enough. Which is odd I knit

Are there any tips you could share about gift wrapping?

Re: Are you a good gift wrapper?

Back in the 90's, I had a co-worker who worked at one of those

mall gift-wrapping places during the holidays.

I swear I could've given her some post-it notes, roll of tape &

dental floss, and she could make it look like one of those

beautiful packages from Neiman's.

I worked in gift wrap in a small department store when I was in school  so yes, I am a good gift wrapper.  That being said, I use a lot of gift bags.  I do not just drop the item in.  I wrap it then fuss and twist colorful tissue paper.

Container Store = Gift Wrapping

If you have a store near you, pop in to get ideas.

I love going in there during the holidays.

Everything's so bright & colorful!

Beautiful selection of paper & ribbon.

Re: Are you a good gift wrapper?

Yes.  I love to wrap because I love to put things together.  I buy the most beautiful heavy weight wrapping paper from Current Stationary who was origonally known for stationary and cards.  Their designs are often better than Hallmark!  I have an entire shopping bag of ribbon and wire garland used on miniture trees which I fold into the bows I make.  These are from currrent.  They also have matching tags and tissue.  Many sales and often free ship.

(My bows don't look like this).

I think Hallmark has gone downhill a lot. When I was little  they had beautiful cards and paper, now it's fair to middlin at best

Re: Are you a good gift wrapper?

Yes I'm a good wrapper.  I fold all the edges near you and cut the excess off.  I like to match up the print if I can   Lol

I always coordinate the packages under the tree.   For birthday gifts, I pick out an envelope that will match the paper.   I like to add embellishments sometimes too.

I use gifts bags only because I save them from other gifts.   They're not my preference     😊

I guess I would say I am fair at it, but mine never seem to reach the levels people would oh and aw about.

I think they made gift bags for people  like me

You know what, though? One of the things I look forward about receiving presents from my left-handed husband is how "special" his wrapping is. It's precious to me--the ends smushed on the sides from too much paper with lots of tape. I love it!
