I have been at times, but by real world measure, not QVC's faux posh - a gallon of argan oil, Quacker Factory, a $450 "Christmas charm bracelet" and Jane looking like an advertisement for What Not to Wear.

I don't know what that means.  If it means "all that" it wouldn't matter because my friends don't know it and don't care or wouldn't recognize it.  If I walked around like a peacock they'd think I'd lost my mind.  Sometimes being out of the loop (so to speak) is the best way to be.

No, I'm not and even less so since I retired. I do like seeing them all dressed up and living in their princess fairytale world. Nothing wrong with a little of that once in awhile, however I am one who really enjoyed the years gone by Kirks Folly shows. Since my family has shrunk by the way of natural causes, I have very few gifts to buy except for a couple remaining family members. I'm not one who purchases gifts for everyone I come in contact with throughout the year. I don't object to people who enjoy that type of gift giving, just not my thing. I'd rather get together with friends for a nice dinner and enjoy their company for a couple hours.
