Re: Are You Tired of Hearing "Friendsgiving?"

During most of our time together DH and I both worked on Thanksgiving. On either the Friday or Saturday after the holiday we would make a traditional feast with all the fixings and invite our friends and neighbors and have a Friendsgiving. Those who were working on the holiday,  had no family nearby, or were alone were welcome at our table. It was a blessing to share with them and I wish we didn't have the family obligations on the holiday now so we could have continued it.

Re: Are You Tired of Hearing "Friendsgiving?"

My circle of friends have been doing this for over a decade now. We do call it friends thanksgiving, and it takes place sometime after Thanksgiving but before Christmas. It was started as a way for us to get together and celebrate our friendship around the holidays because Thanksgiving and Christmas is spent with family all over the country.
