Nope, we haven't got any Spam calls since we cancelled our Landline a month ago and it is heavenly.  We were paying Verizon $139 a month for just a Landline and getting all those Robo and Spam calls.  We finally cancelled it after talking about it for too long.  Our iPhones automatically block calls and very few get through.  We do not miss our Landline at all.

@MissMadi   I did the same thing a couple of years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. Unless you are listed in my phones contacts the call is suppressed.  I haven't missed my landline since I cancelled it.

@Sooner

Today I deleted 7 spam calls. Over the weekend it was 17. Our phone however never rings. Several years ago I bought a 4 handset cordless phones. These have an Auto Block Setting that blocks all numbers not in your Phone Directory. This blocks them from ringing, and it holds up to 1,000 different numbers.

Took care of 99% of telephone rings that were computer generated, or numbers of others I did not want to field. Great phones, worth every penny to us.

I found your post very interesting in that you mentioned a blocking system that blocks all calls NOT in your directory.

I don't think I currently have that capability, but, will look into it.

My Panasonic system was one bought from HSN several years back that blocks 250 calls and I have only filled it once, then start over.

However, as I mentioned, they always call from different numbers now.

But, being able to designate what numbers will ring through seems to be the important thing.  That's my next purchase.

Thanks!

@Sooner   Nope.  You'd have to ask the spammer why they're calling you.  I have no idea.

Yes, we get lots of them. I have my ringer set for 3 rings then it goes to the answering machine. They rarely leave a message and we never pick up a call that we don't recognize the number. If it's medical, like a reminder for an appointment or a pharmacy call, they always leave a message. I do grow weary of the rings, however.

Re: Are You Getting Lots of Spam Calls Last 2 Days?

Scammers are working overtime during the pandemic. Spam calls never end. Apple added a "scam call" alert in an system upgrade last year so I know when it's spam. I don't answer and then go into my phone and block the number. After just a year, I don't receive nearly as many as I used to. But I still get some.
