I know this is rude but do you think people need to be told twice that this is a positive thread?   people are just giving their opinions

@lovescats "I know this is rude but" I'm going to post it anyway?

@Kachina624   Thank you.  I got up and started out that day with no idea of how wonderful it was going to end up.

I think it's the nastiness, sarcastic, and rude replies.

It is tiresome to read posters who default to negative, then tun around and complain about negativity. Self awareness is a wonderful thing.

How can we encourage more riders to drive the bus? How can we encourage others to start great threads and post thoughtful replies? Perhaps by modeling what we'd like to see in replies/threads is one way, but what else could we do?

@lovescats  I don't believe that negativity will attract new posters, and the goal of this thread again is to encourage not discourage.

I almost passed on opening this thread.  I thought it was about someone no longer driving their car.

I like the way this was put forth, thank you.  It reminded me of the visits I once had with my grandmother.  She couldn't hear much, and lived to be 101.  But she had stories she told me about her earlier life, I had no idea about.  She told me things I'd never imagined that there were questions back then, I could have asked her about, since I had no knowledge either of these things or that they even existed.  Mostly this occured when she was in the nursing home & I visited.  The visits were great for us both.

By sharing, we can learn so much.  Granted, there are some attackers here, take them with a grain of salt and let them have their say.  Everyone's entitled.  I'd rather communicate and create a conversation than an argument.  Makes for a better life.

Goodness --- the sun was certainly shining on you!  How nice to hear such wonderful stories.
