Crying is an emotional reaction same as laughing, smiling, frowning, screaming, rolling eyes, and any other response humans have to situations.  I would never describe it as a weakness or a tool used to manipulate.

@occasionalrain, Your response makes me feel nothing but pitty for you.  People like you have no heart, no love and no happiness.  You sound like a sad, bitter human.  I cry for people like you, what a shattered soul you must be.

I notice you used the phrase, break down, which is a loss of control. I don't have confidence in someone who breaks down. I want those around me to be steadfast and reliable.

A catch in the voice, a tear in one's eye is not crying.
