When I was younger I was in a couple organizations. One was a group of women from church and the other was a Jr.Women thing.
Helped with kids sports too.
At one point in my early 30s 3 friends and I joined a Wed. am bowling league. We just did it for fun and it was, except for 2 other teams that thought the Pro Bowlers Association was going to sign them up. Took it way too serious. We did it for 2 years and really enjoyed getting together but getting the death stare when we laughed wasn't worth it.
Now, at 70, not interested in joining anything.

I sang with Sweet Adelines for many years. Belong to a political discussion group that met once a month at the public library before the pandemic.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I agree with not wanting to join anything. We have earned this time in our life. I want no commitments or obligations to be somewhere or attend meetings. This is my time, and I want to use the time I have left to please myself. Younger me did plenty of that to last the rest of my life.
I realize that I am an introvert. I recharge best when I am alone and enjoying the quiet around me. Extroverts who need social and other people around them probably don't share my opinion. I'm just glad we are in a stage of our life that we can say no to being forced into social situations.

Not interested in joining anything. Did take a few classes, was in a bowling league, and in an exercise group when I was younger. Being an introvert I prefer to be at home now. I do enjoy conversing one on one but not with a group.

I am NOT a "joiner." Never belonged to Girl Scouts, sororities, etc. We moved to an "active adult" community with over 70 clubs. Never joined any of them. Now I do belong to 2 knitting groups at our local churches but that's because I like to donate my knitted items and having these groups makes it easier.

Can a person go from an extrovert to an introvert? When I was younger I was outgoing and on the go. Now, I hate going out. I do because my DD says I need to get out of the house.
My idea of going out is running to the post office or the bank and then home. I am planning a dinner with 3 friends. We had dinner plans last March until I got a phone call we were put on lockdown.

I am currently a volunteer/member of three organizations--- A faith based non-profit, and also two organizations that help animals..............
I find it rewarding when I can give back to the community and help people and animals.....🧍♀️😺🐶🐾🦌🦝🦊🐦🐿️

I don't anymore. Show up a few times, speak in articulate sentences, and you are hounded into being on a committee or hold an office. The minute I joined a group, committee, or organization I was invariably asked to be an officer or chair a "drive" of some sort. That's how a 2-year music board membership at church turned into 8 years. After chairing fund raisers for new robes and then hymnals, I was ready to hand the job over. Just like here, critics no matter what was done.
