Yes! I don't do costume jewelry and it seems like that's pretty much all they do now. I admit I bought a good amount of 14k and 18k jewelry back in the day here, and it was good quality to boot!
Now it's just silver, vermeil, etc, for the most part. I guess it sells and that's why, so I'm not saying I wish they wouldn't. But it just doesn't interest me one iota.
I remember PJD used to do 18k shows and one day she said to send her a fax telling how you love your 18k jewelry. I faxed in my piece and it ended up being one of the ones she read on air.

I commented in a previous post but would like to add to my comments. I miss Mary Beth Roe and Nolan Miller. His jewelry pieces were exquisite. He adored Mary Beth.It was nice to see two professionals selling quality costume pieces. He had a crystal encrusted rose that was beautiful but expensive. I always wanted that piece to wear on my red wool coat. The gentleman that sold Jacqueline Kennedy jewelry was knowledgeable. He told great stories about Jackie and her jewelry. A mini history lesson and beautiful pieces of jewelry.

I miss the Black Hill Gold and Peterboro Baskets shows. Although there only a certain number of baskets people might buy, I always loved watching the shows just to see how they would use some of the baskets.
I did purchase a couple of the baskets that had the plastic liners & still use them to this day. The one that is the size of about a 9x13 I use every New Year's Eve. I put our hot appetizers along with fruit skewers, cheese and crackers in that one. Works perfectly & has held up beautifully over the years.

texassunflower: Yes, I forgot about Nolan Miller. He had the most gorgeous jewelry. I have the rose you are talking about and it is stunning. I also loved Kenneth Jay Lane's line. I have tons of jewelry from Nolan, Kenneth and Joan and since I retired do not get a chance to wear most of them. When I worked on Wall Street years ago, we used to dress in skirt suits or dresses, jewelry, heels, everything looked gorgeous, none of this sloppy casual dressing that you see now. That is when I wore all of my jewelry, now I just admire it. I don't have the heart to sell it and do not do ebay, so I don't know what I will do when I have to eventually downsize and part with so much that I have collected over the past 35 years.
