Yes, there's a secret cabal of customers.

Seriously? I've not dealt with any online retailer that's hasn't experienced difficulties and delays this past year and a half. That includes Amazon.

Guess the only difference is in how you choose to deal with it.

@Etoile308 True, but the problems at QVC seem to have gone on and on and on, starting before the pandemic.  In my opinion, they just can not seem to get their act together.  Other online retailers do a much better job, per my own experiences.

I agree all businesses have been affected but Q's goes back further.  I think they just see no need to change,  until the last customer turns off the lights

Re: Are There Preferred Customers

@IdahoGram, you're absolutely correct. But I think people will find even b&m aren't getting in their merchandise in a timely fashion. I went to my Target the other day, where about a fifth of the shelves were empty. Back to school area seemed to have a third of the items from years past. Summer items that usually would have been on the floor three months ago was out as new stock.

I just shake my head sometimes at some people.

Nah, there are no 'preferred' QVC customers, if there was I would on the top of their list, LOL!

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I ordered a book on Amazon for a granddaughter's bday; it took 7 weeks to arrive, despite my inquiries. It was traveling from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Houston,Texas.....then the bookseller started asking me for a 5 star rating and review. Um....no; not when there was never an explanation for the delay and I didn't receive it in time for her birthday. I have learned that ordering things that are in the Amazon warehouse in my state is the only possible way to get anything in less than a week. Of it comes from any other place, just don't expect it for a long time. As long as I know it is on its way and can track it, I am fine with it. It's the time-sensitive stuff you can't count on.

@Mistreatedbycs  stated   -    "Seriously, when you purchase an item its for immediate satisfaction knowing the product is so noted in stock.

When it takes a week maybe more to get out the door, really who wants it, let's cancel and move on."

Anyone who is ordering for immediate satisfaction appears to have a real problem.  I order only if it is something I really want and will use!!  I am willing to wait!

Re: Are There Preferred Customers

I, too, do not really understand this need for instant gratification and then disappointment and anger.

I guess it is the modern world of everything fast and short attention spans.

I am a planner-- I purchase items far in advance from when I need them (birthday and holiday gifts, etc.).  That is why I like QVC CIJ so much.

When I shop on impulse and just find something pretty I want, I have the patience to wait until it arrives, because I want that particular item.

Another story-- I ordered more checks from my bank more than a month ago and they are still stuck somewhere in the DHL warehouse.  So it is not just UPS, USPS, etc.  The bank will NOT reprint them-- I had to reorder using the next set of 80 numbers.  Those checks will be shipped Fed Ex. Hopefully one day one of the sets will arrive.  This past year and a half has just been really disruptive to all of the world's industries, especially shipping.

Re: Are There Preferred Customers

I guess it depends on what someone's definition of "immediate satisfaction " is.

For me if it's an immediate need I would quickly go out to the nearest available store.

Waiting 5 or 6 days won't satisfy an immediate need (I wouldn't think.)

Re: Are There Preferred Customers

I've done my fair share of ordering for various places and QVC was by far the worst.  It took 10 days before they even shipped my order and it was not an advance order.  Once it finally shipping, it was here within a couple of days.

@Pook

Oh please don't start judging anyone.

This thread was to ask the question, are there preferred customers and are their orders being pulled and shipped first?  That's all.

I know when I had my business, the biggest spenders got the best service, sure you would say everyone should be treated the same but unfortunately I would pick merchandise based on dollars spent, they got priority.  You want to keep those people, they are keeping the doors open and the merchandise coming in.
