On 4/6/2014 Winifred said:I am older than dirt and cartoons have been super sad since I was a very young one. Always sad and that is perhaps why I have a hard time even now watching animated movies - love them most of the time but I sure check them out. To this day I remember Bambi's mother dying.
I am sooooooo sick, do not have a clue why - started feeling really bad late yesterday afternoon. Feel so bad as I was going to pick up a lady and we were headed to Beaumont to hear Ollin preach - can't do it. Jeannie said it was a blessing in disguise as she only got about 1 1/2 hour sleep last night and she hasn't felt really great for some time now but she keeps on. My body put itself in to an idle. Ain't going to do much of anything.
Have a good day everyone.
Winifred, I am sorry to read that you are feeling poorly. Does it feel like the flu? Is it your lungs bothering you?
Wish I could deliver these to you myself

Bird Mama, yep, it's lung problems again - went to Urgent Care yesterday and I did not feel up to the drive but figured I need to. I did, they took me right in and gave me oxygen, breathing treatment, two shots (cannot pronounce them) and antibiotics. Was there a bit over two hours. I did stop on the way home at Denny's and a bowl of broccoli soup. Couldn't eat it all but it sure was good. When I cough - thank goodness at this point it is not a lot - sure does hurt - wish that would go away. It is not the flu - always have a flu shot - but the seriousness of getting a "cold" etc is the COPD - it creates many other problems and that is what this is all about.
Suppose to be close to 90 today and I heard about an hour ago suppose to be a tad warmer tomorrow and just now I heard tomorrow is suppose to be 94. My goodness - this is dumb.
Miss Blackie is sitting in the open window - both cats love to do that - Stripes of course is roaming outside. Conrad is fast asleep in the living room - am surprised he is not up on myh bed. LOL.
Late afternoon did get out and refill the feeders - hope the feathered ones appreciate it. Figured I had best do it as I suspect there will be a lot of feathered friends visiting in the next few days. The crows are everyhwhere - they are beautiful birds but sure can be messy. I just wish they would not bring walnuts over here and crack them in my yard - especially around the bird bath. I grew up in the South where crows were plentiful but I do not think I have ever seen crows as big as these.
Hope all have a great day!!!!!

Winifred, I hope you are feeling much better today. I wonder if you might have coughed hard enough to make your ribs hurt. I have done that before + pleurisy. I hope you are getting a lot of rest along with the meds. Chicken soup is supposed to help, esp. with colds as something in it helps relieve congestion. I even use the canned Chicken soup with wild rice in it.
Glad you were able to get to the Urgent Care place. Nice that you didn't have to wait.
It's in the 80ies here in Florida and they say rain is on the way.
I am still having a few issues with this laptop, and need to call the techs and ask a few questions. I finally wised up and wrote the issues and questions down. Before they'd ask me if I had an more questions and on cue, my mind goes blank.
Senior moments.
Take good care of yourself and no overdoing till you feel stronger and are breathing easier.

Hi everyone! Winifred, take good care of yourself until you are better. DH has been hacking for about four weeks now, so don't know what he had as it was just a hacking cough, nothing else, but finally, it is getting better.
I went out onto my new deck, it only has plywood down for temporary walking as it is not finished, after the guy left, as he had been installing a nicer wood on the ceiling of the inside of the deck roof, and lo and behold, there were two very small birdie nests, soooo cute! They must have built them over the weekend. I told the contractor not to disturb them, but that if they had to be removed, I wanted them. Cute though the nests be, it did cross my mind the mess that would be made on the deck, you know what I mean, so I really should discourage the nest building there.
Gorgeous weather today! I spent part of yesterday weeding and digging up those treacherous thistle weeds, and it was so good to get outside again. The soil was so saturated that I actually sank into it every time I stepped, but if this weather keeps up, I will have to water before long. We finally went out to dinner last night, and it was fun, and nice not to have to cook for a change. I am sluggish today, so DH will make his famous grilled cheese tonight, and I will make a salad, DD ate her leftover dinner from last night.
I had no leftovers to bring home, lol.
Enjoy the week!

I know your new deck and other refurbishings are going to be so nice Mousie. I know you will enjoy them.
I'm sorry for not posting but it's been a pain trying to post on this laptop. I would get it all written out and I couldn't find it. I got tired of saying the same thing![]()
We have had such horrid weather the same as you all and I am so glad spring is finally making an appearance. Everyone is of course.
WINIFRED, I have to commiserate with you about the gophers, just like these blooming armadillos that have invaded our yard. It's awful the holes they've dug and we are more or less powerless against them. DH is not able to do anything and other than shoot them I don't know what else. Any suggestions!
My neighbor that I've cleaned for the one that I started with actually, passed away last week. So sad and we have been trying to find homes for her 2 kitties. Maybe soon, they are inside cats all the time. It's been hard thus far.
POSSUM, so glad you got your laptop going again. I'm sure you are enjoying warm weather in Florida. My tulips, buttercups, hyacinths and other bulbs are so pretty. My mailbox is surrounded by living colors.
I'm to go to tax office this morning, that's why I'm up so early. Yuk!
BIRDMAMA, such beautiful pics. I KNOW you're glad to see warmer weather. Hasn't Michigan had record snowfall this year?
Got to get at it and get my "face" on and get my uncle R.C.s' breakfast ready. He's 88 now and loves his breakfast, cleans his plate most everyday.
I so hope this post doesn't go poof. Nice to talk with all.

Hi Mousiegirl - deck sounds beautiful. Watch out if you remove the nests. When DH and I found a nest on our patio nearly 9 years ago, neither of us saw no eggs, anywhere. Next day - my first set of sparrows hatched. Just sayin, you might get more than you bargain for (lol).
Stepping Stone - good to see you as well. We didn't quite break any snow fall records - just claim really close. I'm sorry that your neighbor died. I think it's wonderful that you are trying to find a home for her two cats.

Hi Birding Friends, Wanted to stop and say Hi to all before I am computer less for a couple of days. I am taking this laptop into Office Depot for repairs that I had thought were done on line all day Saturday and into Saturday evening. I found out yesterday that the second company that I was referred to by the little company that did the original scan on here, didn't play honestly with me. What was going on with my laptop, can't be fixed 'on line'. I did call and got refunds on close to $455 so far. I am not sure if I'll cancel the security system, Pandaforever. It's expensive, but never has to be renewed and has an identity protection feature + others. Will talk to Office Depot techs about it.
Hope you are all doing well. Hope to get back here by Thursday at least.
Waving to all Birding Friends, be safe and take good care.
