Local business put a sign up yesterday (April 1) saying they were closing and going out of business and having a big sale. Today the big sign says April Fools!!! What is your opinion?

I have never liked April Fools jokes....they are not funny....and sometimes very hurtful or plain ignorant....as to that closing sign...people should just avoid going there for a month or more.....see how funny he thinks it is then....

I've been a grown-up for quite a while now so most of it seems silly to me. Generally, if no harm is done (and they leave me out of it), I don't think about it.

But for a business to do that seems kind of stupid. Ok, REALLY stupid. First of all, you pi $$ off people who came in to check out the 'sale'. Secondly, everybody else figures you've gone out of business so they are going elsewhere. Not a smart marketing move, IMO.

My opinion is it looks like they put up a sign and it is up to potential customers to figure out what it means.

Depends on the business & who their customers are.I can see a small business w local regular customers & casual friendly atmosphere might be ok.

I think it is great advertising. A restaurant did that here once.
