Anyone's experience with running out of/getting off addictive pain meds?

I ran out of my Ultram this weekend and don't have the money this week to get it. I went thru an agonizing withdrawal last night - hot and cold sweats, pains in legs, restlessness, craving the drug, having the runs, basically going out of my mind. I even had a couple of glasses of wine and that only gave me a headache, and didn't help anything. I finally was able to get to sleep and woke up feeling a lot better, but not perfect.

Dr. had prescribed me Lyrica, but I hadn't taken it consistently due to it cauzing dizziness, but this all I have right now.

Does anyone know if Lyrica is addictive? I need to take something for my fibro and arthritis pain.

I am debating on whether I should go back to the Ultram, as I know that if I run out again, it is going to be h*ll.

Does anyone have any experience in this area?
