Re: Anyone read EWG

[ Edited ]

@Italian gal @I personally feel it does matter what you put on your face and body. Years of research are available, and do the best you can.  Some go overboard, some are moderate,  and then there those who don't give a darn.  Many people still feel if it's cheap and they love it ...they wear it.  They don't want to to research, and don't believe much in science. I do research and do what I can. BlueBunny is important to me. To me talcs are just  self incriminating!!!  !  Talc flakes off, can be breathed in.  Talc is one oroduct I avoid off the top.   And wow....... its a tough one, as they throw it in so many products!

Yeah, don't just toss things because you read an article somewhere.

There are authorities on this subject.  (Paula somebody?)   Seek them out.

i reference EWG.

also PETA

its bad enough there is c**p in our personal products and food, but even worse when they test on helpless animals in metal head locks so they cannot blink.  and other ways, too horrible to mention.

just disgusting.  we can do much better and we are with computers.  hopefully animal testing will be a thing of the past very soon!!

Some of what EWG writes about is obviously useful and can be considered as guideline material. But there is controversy over the funding side of that organization where conflicts of interest have much to do about what is written. Take it with a grain of salt and don't fall for their scare tactics. Not everything is what it appears to be, good or bad.

@Tinkrbl44 is referencing Paula Begoun, founder of Paula's Choice.

If you go to the Paula's Choice website you'll find Beautypedia, a pretty handy tool that is essentially a library of ingredients used in beauty products.

If there's a particular ingredient that concerns you, check out Beautypedia's take on it.  I've used it and have found it helpful.  Paula's articles include several references.
